We love to go to the zoo to see the penguins. The king penguins are curious and will stare at people near the glass. The polar bear is cool too if you’re lucky to catch him while he is swimming. Lots of nice animal displays! The gorillas and their babies are also cute. There’s a nice plot of grass in the middle that’s good for family picnicing as well. Recommend going early in the morning while it’s not so hot though, if you can. If you live in ABQ then get the annual pass because every time you go you could see different animals without feeling rushed and overwhelmed.

Zoo was nice. The prices for a small icee was 8$! Parking was a nightmare. Staff was friendly but thw other people in the zoo was very rude. Alot of people have their kids there sick or allowing them to throw things at the animals. The bathrooms was tricky.. half the doors didn't work or was out of service. The animals tho was nice.

I had such a good time here, i didnt expect it to have so many animals. Granted, it’s smaller and definitely no comparison to the space they get in the wild but the animals seem to be well taken care of and are there for rehabilitation/ because they are unable to survive in the wild if released. We had a birthday party un the open area and it was so lovely! Very clean :)

February was a good day to visit. It was my first and mostly likely the only visit while on business trip. Well designed zoo. Reasonable pricing (even considering non-resident). Super kid friendly. Parking lot is free

This is the kind of zoo where you don’t feel bad for the animals because they’re living in fun and spacious accommodations. All animals appeared to be healthy and thriving so they’ve got the most important part right! Peacocks were especially friendly. We really enjoyed what was open and available, but I’ve never been to a zoo with so many things closed or broken. Shuttle bus and carousel both closed (although the website says they’re running) Most water fill stations didn’t work. If you buy combo tickets with the aquarium and botanic garden (do it! A great deal) be prepared to pack up the family and drive to the aquarium/gardens 2 miles away because the shuffle might not be available. Start early for enough time to enjoy all 3 places because there is SO much to see and do in a day.
