💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Bring bug repellent to prevent discomfort from insects.
  • Visit after recent rainfall for the best chance to see a fuller, heavier waterfall.
  • Pack bikes for extended rides, considering the option to reach Downtown Fort Worth (approx. 35 mins on an e-bike) or Marion Sansom Park.
  • Prepare a picnic lunch or snacks, as tables are readily available.
  • Allocate extra time for parking, as it can be limited and require waiting.
  • Manage expectations regarding a playground, as none is present at the park.

Things to Consider

  • Waterfall flow is dependent on recent rainfall; it may not be 'heavy' without it.
  • Bugs 'tend to be out', suggesting the need for bug repellent.
  • Parking can be 'selective at times' and may require waiting on occasions.
  • There is no playground at the park.

Price & Value

No specific entry fees or costs were mentioned in the reviews, indicating it is likely a free public park. This offers excellent value for a diverse range of outdoor activities including scenic walks, biking, picnicking, and access to historical and natural features.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • Features 'paved/gravel trails' and a 'concrete path' which may be suitable for strollers or individuals with limited mobility, but no specific wheelchair accessibility accommodations are explicitly mentioned in the reviews.
  • The 'not too difficult' walking path suggests ease of navigation.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • The presence of picnic tables in shaded areas strongly suggests that outside food and drinks are allowed and encouraged for family picnics. No restrictions were mentioned.

🚗Parking Info

  • Parking is available but can be 'selective at times', and visitors have reported having to 'wait on a few occasions' for a spot. Type of parking (free/paid, number of spots) is not specified, but the implication is it can get busy enough to cause delays.

👥Crowd Levels

  • While not explicitly stated, the comment about parking being 'selective' and requiring a wait suggests it can experience moderate to high visitor traffic, particularly at certain times, potentially leading to some crowding for parking spots.

🛡️Safety Features

  • No specific safety features, staff supervision, or first-aid stations are mentioned in the reviews, as is common for open park and trail environments. Visitors should exercise standard outdoor safety precautions.

When to Avoid

  • If your children primarily expect a playground for entertainment.
  • If a powerful, heavy waterfall is a critical part of your visit and there hasn't been recent rain.
  • During peak times if you are sensitive to parking challenges or unwilling to wait for a spot.
  • If sensitive to bugs and unprepared with repellent.

Great access to paved/gravel trails for walking, running and biking on the Trinity River Trails. You’ll find some historic information about the Joint Reserve base as well as scenic falls. The water was higher this visit due to recent rainfall. If you like mountain biking it is a fairly easy ride through quiet neighborhood streets to get to Marion Sansom Park where you will find Intermediate to advanced hiking and biking trails. There is also a concrete path that winds along Cahoba Dr. and makes for a good ride when MTB trails are closed.

A very nice spot for a walk or riding your bike on the West fork Trinity River trail. No playground there only picnic tables in shade area and get to walk under a jet wings it’s a incredible view. Wanted to see the water fall but it haven’t been raining so it wasn’t a heavy water fall. Rode the trail all the way to downtown Fort Worth took bout 35min on class 2 e-bike
