Armand Bayou Nature Center

Took a lot of nice pictures. Wasn’t expensive but I’m a city girl so I was afraid of the snakes and alligator. I didn’t see any but just heads up you could. I had never been to a nature center so I didn’t know exactly what to expect. I would definitely recommend it just for the experience.

Saturday morning we went on the pontoon boat. We had an awesome time! It was such a a peaceful ride and the guides (Regina and Captain James) were super friendly and knowledgeable. They provided binoculars to help spot wildlife. We spotted 7 gators, different fish and tons of birds. I live right down the road from Armand Bayou and can't believe it's taken me so long to enjoy this. I would definitely recommend this experience and am looking forward to going again!

What an amazing place! It’s a beautiful and serene place in our busy area. We took the electric pontoon boat ride early in the morning. It was so serene and peaceful. We saw lots of egrets and herons and at least 7 alligators. Captain James was so knowledgeable and fun, as was our guide Regina. Definitely take the time to go and check out our surrounding nature.

On vacation, I stopped in here to get some miles into my daily walking routine. this was a interesting walk. There was a wonderful nature center/gift shop and lots of informational bulletin boards with descriptions and details about Flora and Fana in the area. And the staff there were polite and helpful. i’ll have to admit though that the trail was a little dicey, because the mulch used on the trail was obviously just shredded vegetation from the neighboring trees and shrubs, many of them were large enough to create a tripping hazard if you weren’t careful or you were walking too quickly, and I happen to have a fast pace and I wasn’t really able to get a good stride for that reason. Great views of the wide Bayou here.

We had a wonderful time. A must for all who have children fascinated by nature.
