in the last weekIt was so nice to get out on the water for their guided bat tour. The tour lasted a bit over 2hrs and involved a couple miles of kayaking before we stopped under the Congress Bridge for the main event: hundreds of thousands of bats emerging! Pedro was a great guide who shared a bunch of interesting tidbits about Austin and about bat behavior. The Rowing Club was very organized and all the staff I interacted with were very pleasant. Being out at night with the water illuminated by the skyline was also a great experience.

2 weeks agoThis was such a fun trip! Our family includes two young kids (6 &9) and wasn’t sure how it would be for them. The kayaking was easy enough but enjoyable for the kids, the setting couldn’t have been better and our guide was excellent. Jacob managed to combine safety, bat facts and history in his talks without making it boring. He also let us just paddle enough to not make it feel like a lecture.
