2 years agoNice one basketball court size gym with hoops at each end with two half court hoops able to be set up as well. Has a men's and women's bathroom inside, and plenty of parking outside.

2 years agoOur eldest has been at Bala for 3 years now and our youngest just did her first class. As another review clarified, this is rhythmic gymnastics so you wouldn't see the same kind of apparatus or moves as artistic gymnastics. At Bala the beginners class consists of age-appropriate conditioning exercises that prepare their bodies to perform the dance-like moves in rhythmic gymnastics routines. During certain timings the competitive team can be seen on the other side of the gym performing far more challenging versions of these conditioning exercises. In that sense they do take a no-frills approach to training even at the beginner level, which may not be every child's cup of tea, especially 3 or 4 year olds. In spite of this, the coaches are very good with young kids and our 3yo told me to "go away next time" after her very first class. Having attended several competitions with our eldest, we realize that as coaches they are also very supportive and encouraging which we really appreciate.

3 years agoOur child has been with Bala Gymnastics for nearly 10 years. Note to other commenter: this is rhythmic gymnastics and does not utilize the equipment you refer to. As a long-time participant this kind of thing can be difficult to judge but Bala certainly seems welcoming to new gymnasts and families.

3 years agoI did not like this place, there is not a single piece of equipment for the children to train on, no pommel horse , no balance beam, no bars, no ropes. Nothing. My little one attended for 8 visits, each week they did the same thing. They did not perform any cartwheels. tumbling , flips, nothing. Essentially the time was spent stretching. Very disappointed.
