11 months agoDon’t forget deep DEET bug spray. Super tall grass got covered in ticks and mosquitoes. Bees not bothering us but they were unavoidable with the path being overgrown of the weeds. We didn’t get stung so it wasn’t a problem for us. Not sure when they mow down the trail path but definitely had not been done in sometime when we went. Beautiful spot. Easy walk for kids and dogs.

3 years agoBells Bend Outdoor center was a nice open space type of park. The walking trails were mowed grass and wide enough for a small road. The trails meander though the meadows to a creek, a couple of small ponds, and along the Cumberland River. The rivers edge was not readily accessible as far as I can tell. I was able to get down there for a nice riverside view of the boats going by; however I wouldn't recommend it. The short but steep climb up the bank was sketchy. A small educational area was located at the other entrance with a bouldering rock. Some mountain bike trails were also available. All and all a good day outdoors.

4 years agoThis is a beautiful and tranquil park. There is a visitor center near the entrance, and areas for camping and large gatherings. Overall, this is a somewhat small Park (800 acres) that is great for small strolls and longer day hikes.

11 months agoOne of the most beautiful parks that I’ve ever seen, however we learned our lesson the hard way today that tick season is in full swing. We pulled at least three different kinds of ticks off of my husband and I after our walk today. Leaving review to warn others to use caution this time of year
