2 months agoTruly beautiful place to hike with well maintained trails and a good chance of seeing wildlife. The trails are all fairly easy and there are periodic places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Great for dogs but would not recommend bringing a stroller. At the trailhead are their ambassador birds, who are being cared for by the wildlife rescue center. The gift shop is surprisingly big with mix of souvenirs, books, bird-watching materials and bird feeding supplies. Parking is free but limited.

6 months agoGreat place for a short easy hike. Cute shop with tons of bird related items to look at and read about. There are also a few birds you can find close to the trail head with placards that tell you about them.

2 months agoFound a sick bird today and was able to catch it and take out here for them to help. They were very helpful and kind. Appreciate them for what they do to help wildlife.

3 weeks agoWhat’s better than taking a beautiful hiking trail that ends at a wildlife hospital? Go say hi to the kind volunteers and to Xena the cutest falcon ever (if you’ve never seen a kestrel in person, you have to; you won’t believe how tiny these bad a** birds of prey are)!

10 months agoBeautiful bird sanctuary located in the hills of Northwest Portland. There is a nice 1 mile loop hike through the forest. I’d rated at moderate Difficulty. They have a small parking lot and gift shop at the trailhead. There you can find out more information about educational opportunities and events.
