2 weeks agoThis was our third time having a picnic at Blendon Woods Metro Park, and once again, it did not disappoint. The park is consistently clean, peaceful, and just a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, with plenty of open space, shade, and well-maintained picnic areas. We really appreciate how attentive the staff is—you'll often see park rangers roaming around, checking in, and even picking up trash to help keep the area pristine. It shows how much they care about preserving the park’s beauty. Another plus: the grills are clean and ready to use, which makes preparing food on-site super convenient. Overall, Blendon Woods has become one of our go-to spots for a chill and enjoyable day outdoors. Highly recommended for families, groups, or anyone looking to spend some quality time in nature.

5 months agoAwesome “natural play area,” interesting small nature center, and a few neat observation buildings on a pond Pros: +Small education nature center w picnic tables under shade +a couple observation buildings on of the pond, including some telescopes +Natural Play Area has: an easy zip line, spider climb rope netting, tire swing, see-saw, tether ball, a couple small foot bridge crossings of the creek, seek & find game markers, 3 tree rope swings, at least a couple stick huts to build or play in, and woods & creek to explore +a few other small, normal playgrounds (We haven’t gone extensively on the walking trails, but they appear to be the same easy quality of the other metro parks, coursing through both woods and open meadows, with lots of exposure to nature, and some educational signs for small children) +The park is open past sunset most of the year (but bring a flashlight, if you intend to walk close to dusk) Cons?: ? Some construction in areas (which means they are working on keeping things up👍) ? We’ve only been twice!😁

7 months agoBeautiful huge park with plenty to do. Great trails to hike and see wild animals and plants. First time seeing a turkey in the wild. I’ll definitely have to come back and explore the rest of the park when it’s not raining.

in the last weekOverall the park is beautiful. The inclusion portion is very nice. My only fault is. Individuals with special needs really don’t get a chance to participate on the equipment made for wheelchairs and people bound to wheelchairs. ALL children old and young play and don’t consider those with special needs. Times of day should be adjusted for those with special and sensory needs. The park didn’t open til 4pm and was over ran with so many people and their families.

11 months agoBeautiful park with plenty to do. I hiked the Sugarbush trail and saw so much beautiful plants and animals. After the hike we went to the nature center. The man working there was extremely friendly. They had a bunch of animals in there, as well as an observation window with bird feeders. We saw two turkeys from the window. I can't wait to come back and explore the rest of the park.
