a month agoHike with some of the best views of the bay. Several options for hiking - from 1 mile to very long ones with lots of elevation gain. We did a 4.4 mile loop with about 1,100' total elevation gain, a bit under 2 hrs. Saw an eagle snatching a mouse right in front of us. Very green in March but gets burnt out in the summer. There's an option to hike all the way down to the canyon to connect with Alum Rock Park trails. Free parking lot for ~30 cars. The lot was full, so be ready to wait...

5 years agoThis was one of the best trails I’ve hiked in the bay. Highly recommend. The loop took us about 1.5hrs a little over 3 miles. Nevertheless, awesome view and we got to hike along the cows and calfs grazing.

4 years agoThis was my second time visiting this trail. Boy! It was so different from my last visit. The hills were fully blanketed by grass and wildflowers. Thoroughly enjoyed it. This trail is much easier than the trails on the other side of Sierra Rd. Go while you can. The grass will turn yellow in the summer.

a month agoNot Stroller friendly, but extremely scenic. We spotted a bobcat! The trail gets a little steep sometimes.
