a month agoVery informative and updated to provide some unique re-enactment character experiences. We enjoyed the interactive tea party throwing experience and the boat was well equips with replicas and beautiful architecture. I do feel that the whole experience was too long and some of the modern technology seemed out of place for the era specific setting presented at the beginning, but I do appreciate the modern tech used for some of the presentations. It’s a lot of information and history in a short hour, but it felt like A lot of this was for a field trip of kids and even for leisure touring. I felt like this could have been 30-45 minutes tops. Our group was small so the “group” participation moments were definitely quiet Applause to our actors / characters who guided us and provided us with historical information. They never broke character and were clearly invested in what they were doing. That being said - it was a little odd when the in-person guide would interact with the non living character portrayals - it was very distracting and seemed a bit over the top, but again, he was super committed to his role and for that I say “well done.” Also just a side note for anyone with sensory issues, the video at the end was very loud to us and my daughter and I covered our ears especially during the gunshots and fighting portrayal. We appreciated that because attendance was light we were able to adjust our tickets to an earlier time than purchased for which meant we didn’t have to wait very long. The effort put into this information and artifacts are to be praised and we appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the Boston tea party. We appreciated the tea room snacks and gift store as well as the clean modern bathrooms. The staff was very friendly.

a week agoVery interesting place to visit with children. And adults! There is a meeting hall where you are welcomed back in time by people who are in role as the characters. Of course some are better than others. Our tour guide was terrific. My husband tried to stump her: She asked where we were traveling from and he said "Nebraska". She didn't even blink an eye as she remarked, "I never heard of this place..." {Remember, this is the year 1773!) We learned quite a lot of history while pretending to be actually a part of it. As a former educator, I LOVED it! My 11 year old grandson, as well as all the children that were on our tour, remained interested and excited by everything! Especially when we boarded the tea party ship and they were able to participate in throwing the tea overboard! The experience was special and well presented, as well as unforgettable! An excellent way to be a part of history.

a week agoGood if you have kids. If you are an adult, still not a terrible experience, but I wish there was more focus on the actual history and took a deeper dive into that. However, it was engaging and a fun way to learn about history for those who might lack a real passion for it. The tea tasting was actually very good and decently priced, I enjoyed that. Woukd recommend arriving early for some time to explore the tea.

2 weeks agoAt first, I was a bit sceptical of this experience due to the funny accents and costumes. Seemed a bit over the top for my tastes. In reality, however, these guys make it super fun and get you interacting alongside them to enhance the storytelling. There's plenty of information, so despite the fun/silly nature of the experience, you definitely learn to important facts and impact of the Boston Tea Party.

2 months agoIt was a GREAT experience!!! We went on the Boston Tea Part Ships and Museum and it was very fun. You got your own roles, you explored replica ships, and even got to throw “boxes of tea” overboard. Then we went into the museum and got to read some stuff and see some relics from the Boston Tea Party. We saw a short video and watched a 3-d thing. The staff was very nice and friendly. They really made it exciting. My one critique is that it wasn’t the most educational. It was focused more on the reenactment than a deep dive into history. Overall it was very still very interesting and engaging though.
