2 weeks ago*rating is for the dog park, I love the actual park* The Broad Ripple Dog Park is not safe or sanitary, even at non-peak times. I’ve had a membership to this dog park since the beginning of the year, and almost every time I go I see someone’s dog get attacked. Owners oftentimes do not stop their dog from attacking; I’ve seen several people have to defend their dog from someone else’s. Owners do not prevent their dogs from crowding the front gate, which is very anxiety inducing for anyone/any dog entering the park. Last time it was me leaving in tears as my dog got attacked almost immediately after stepping through the gate. Since getting the pass, I have met others who had to stop going here as well because their dog was developing anxiety and aggression from exposure to this park. The dog park itself is often muddy and unclean. When I paid for the pass, I was asked to “pick up two piles” when cleaning up after my dog because there is so much poop everywhere. I have never had an issue taking my dog to a dog park, but I don’t feel safe taking my dog here anymore. I’m disappointed after paying the $75 fee in lieu of going to the alternative dog park that I had been going to, which is a bit farther away but the same price for much more space and peace of mind. I wish I had paid more attention to the red flags before it was my dog getting hurt.

5 months agoGreat park. Walking trails are nice and kept clear. The playground area is clean and fun for my kids. It's never super crowded, there's a soccer field and tennis courts, as well as a dog park, and a pool. My only complaint is that I wish the outdoor bathrooms were available year round. Other then that great place! Now go walk and look at the river. Oh yeah, there's a river, with a dock and everything.

a year agoA great deal of planning, community input, and dedicated effort have clearly been poured into this park. Far more than a static green space, Broad Ripple Park is a public treasure trove of outdoor (and indoor) recreation. Although some of the amenities require sign in rotas or membership to make use of them, these restrictions are obviously there to protect these phenomenal resources and ensure they continue to benefit the local community for many years to come. In my brief time visiting the park, I found many great ideas, implemented well, which I would desperately love to bring to my own hometown. If you find yourself with a free afternoon, you would be well served to see this park for yourself.

11 months agoIf you need a place to take pictures in nature and have someone with you that can't get around well, this is a great place! We took our daughters prom pictures here and her mother couldn't get far into the nature but didn't have to because it's very beautiful and nature is all over! It's the best place to do amateur photo shoots for graduation or prom!!

a year agoFairly nice sized park, plenty of picnic tables and benches, family swimming pool, boat launch and a dog park. Something for everyone, great location to check out the white river.
