2 years agoWe absolutely love Camp Vaminos! My daughter goes to aftercare here during the school year and she always begs to stay “just a little longer!” Megan is great with the kids and takes them on adventures around Austin (using public transportation many times, which my daughter thinks is “so cool”). Camp is mostly outside and gets the kids involved in community projects (like planting trees or raising money for a cause). Megan is full of fun crafts and activities, very interactive with the kids, encourages critical thinking! We 💯 Recommend!

2 years agoMy kids have been attending Camp Vamonos summer camp and after school programs for 5 years, and they love it so much. Megan takes them on adventures all over town, and they also enjoy cozy days at home baking, playing games, making art, and playing outside. It reminds me of the fun summers I had with my cool cousins when I was growing up! My kids have made lifelong friends through Camp Vamonos, it's a really special place.

2 years agoBoth of our kids have gone to Camp Vamanos for years and have loved it. As a parent, I appreciate Megan’s philosophy of providing space for kids to play and explore the old fashioned way. It’s rare to find a camp or after school program out there that truly values free play. Most programs are overly structured and don’t let kids just be kids. Kids learn and grow best being able to freely explore in nature with other kids of all ages. It stimulates their natural curiosity and builds communication and leadership skills. My kids have also made solid friendships through camp and that was an unexpected gift. Lastly, I appreciate that Megan’s camps are low tech and affordable.

2 years agoMy son loves going to Camp Vamonos! The unstructured learning environment allows for the kids to use their imagination, learn outdoor/indoor life skills, play with other kids of all ages (they learn from and teach each other new things), and they have experiences that allow them to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to become more capable and independent people. Megan is a great communicator and keeps parents informed. I used to enroll my son in a variety of camps but Camp Vamonos has become our go to camp!

2 years agoCamp Vamonos is affordable and I love that it’s low-tech too. Most of the time when I pick them up, they are outside playing and I love that. Whenever I’ve needed to pick the kids early and they are out doing something around town, Megan has made it really easy for me to come meet them somewhere so I can grab my kids. Another thing I really appreciate is that Megan will speak Spanish to my boys. They attend a dual language program at school, but are growing up in a monolingual household. So during the summers, I’m always trying to get my kids more exposure to Spanish. It gets bonus points for being so convenient, but even if we didn’t live so close, it would be worth a drive.
