a year agoPrices are very high, especially when a lot of schools will offer short term loans of similar supplies to students for free. For sleeping bags you are better off buying one new than renting for a weekend. You don't always know what you are getting either, I renter multiple coolers and got one that worked great and one that didn't even latch (charged the same price). They don't care at all if you have issues with your rented gear.

5 years agoCharismatic and knowledgeable staff will set you up with the cheapest high-quality rental gear in Minnesota. These folks really care about your experience and will work to get you set up for your trip, be it a day of paddle boarding/mountain biking or a two week Boundary Waters adventure.

6 years agoNot the easiest place to find, but they have a good price for rent "Duluth" packs for your canoe trip. First issue is the parking. I parked illegally, but you should probably park in the nearby ramp. Next stop at the desk at the athletic center, tell them you're there to get gear from the Outdoor Center, and they will buzz you thru the gate. Then go downstairs, hang a right, follow the wall to the climbing gym, upstairs and you're there.

6 years agoGreat place to affordably rent gear! And they occassionally sell older, still-in-great-shape equipment. Got a 3p tent and 2 sleeping bags for a great price!
