It's also a popular venue for children's birthday parties. However, visitors should be aware of challenges with facility navigation, spectator seating, and potentially substandard equipment for competitive events, as well as a mixed record on post-injury customer support.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Be prepared for a potentially difficult drive and confusing entry if visiting for the first time; signage is unclear and it's off a gravel road.
  • If attending a competition or observation, expect to sit on outdoor bleachers with obstructed views and no indoor spectator seating.
  • For competitive athletes, be aware of reported concerns regarding equipment stability and quality during competitions at this specific facility.
  • Monitor your child closely for signs of injury, especially with intensive training, and discuss any concerns with coaches proactively.
  • Manage expectations for post-departure communication if your child leaves the program, particularly if due to injury.
  • Consider this venue specifically for birthday parties, leveraging the dedicated party room and viewing area.

Things to Consider

  • Facility is 'difficult to find' located on a 'gravel road off a divided highway'.
  • Confusing entry process with signs instructing to 'enter the other door' and an 'unmarked door' to the practice area.
  • No indoor seating for spectators; outdoor 'small aluminum bleachers' provide 'obstructed' views of the practice area due to 'multiple door pillars'.
  • For competitions, equipment reported as 'substandard and not well installed': 'elevated run track for the vault was very uneven and shook', 'bars were not fastened to the ground', 'beam also moved while in use', 'floor area was uneven and ended abruptly' with beams at the edge.
  • Questionable safety for competitive events due to unsecured and uneven equipment, with one gymnast distressed about 'throwing her timing on approach off'.
  • Intensive training over years led to a daughter's 'knees started to really get torn up and swell daily', requiring sports medicine and physical therapy.
  • Lack of follow-up communication from the gym after a long-term member left due to injury, perceived as 'completely unprofessional' and disheartening.
  • The gym 'may not be huge, or the size of some high school gymnasiums'.

Price & Value

Class pricing is described as 'competitive and extremely reasonable' given the 'amazing coaching' provided. Long-term participation can amount to 'thousands of dollars' but is seen as worth it for the fun and development, despite reported injury potential. No specific hidden costs were mentioned, birthday parties include a room for eating.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • Demonstrates inclusive treatment for children with special needs (e.g., cerebral palsy) in classes, supporting their achievement and confidence.
  • General facility access can be challenging: difficult to find on a gravel road, confusing signage, and an unmarked entrance.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • A 'Party Room for eating and gift-giving' is available for birthday parties, implying outside food is permitted for these events. General food policy for classes/visits is not specified.

🚗Parking Info

  • Located on a 'gravel road' with an implied parking lot; spectators might be asked to wait in the 'parking lot' during competitions.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Described as a 'small gym' with a 'family like atmosphere' which may suggest manageable crowds during regular classes.
  • Birthday parties likely have controlled group sizes.
  • Competitions would likely draw larger crowds, but spectator seating is limited and inconvenient.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Parents 'feel secure knowing [their] kiddo is in good hands' during regular classes.
  • An 'adult seating area viewing the kids' is provided during birthday parties.
  • Coaches 'really pushed' athletes, which for one long-term participant, led to significant 'knee' injuries requiring medical intervention.
  • During competitions, equipment was described as having 'questionable safety' due to being 'substandard and not well installed', with specific issues like 'uneven' vault track, 'bars were not fastened to the ground', and 'beam also moved'.

When to Avoid

  • High-level gymnastics competitions where equipment standards and spectator comfort are paramount, due to reported substandard and unsecured equipment and poor viewing.
  • Visitors who require a modern, easily accessible, and spacious facility with clear signage and comfortable indoor spectator areas.
  • Parents who prioritize robust and personalized customer service when a long-term child leaves a program, especially if due to injury.
  • Families overly sensitive to potential injury risks from intensive training without prior discussion with coaches about injury prevention protocols.

We have attended COGC for several years now. My daughter, who has cerebral palsy, is always treated inclusively. They coaches have really pushed her to achieve things we never thought possible. Not just on the mats, but personally with her confidence as well. The small gym is a wonderful family like atmosphere and I feel secure knowing my kiddo is in good hands. Highly recommend them!

Birthday party for kids. They had great fun with lots of balls, trampoline, bouncy flooring, and more. Party Room for eating and gift-giving. An adult seating area viewing the kids. My second party, I love it.

This facility trains several middle schools in the area. Our team visited for a competition here. First of all it is difficult to find because it is a gravel road off a divided highway. When you arrive at the building you're instructed by signs to enter the other door. You have to figure out what other door they mean. Upon entering there are several small office equipped rooms but no people. After figuring out that at the end of the hall is an unmarked door that opens into the practice area. The lady inside said by way of greeting "there's no seating inside do you have to wait in the parking lot but we'll open the garage doors so you can watch. Outside again, I locate several small aluminum bleachers provided for seating. However you cannot find any seat that offers a view of the entire practice area because the view is obstructed by multiple door pillars. The equipment (according to the team members) was substandard and not well installed as everything moved while in use. The elavated run track for the vault was very uneven and shook under the gymnast's feet as the ran toward the vault. One girl was quite distressed and said how it was throwing her timing on approach off. The bars were not fastened to the ground and the spotting coach had to use his body weight to keep it upright during performance. The beam also moved while in use because it was not fastened securely to the floor either. Lastly, the floor area was uneven and ended abruptly on one side with the practice beams placed right at the edge. In over three years of performing all over the state, I can say that this was easily the worst facility we have ever been to. The teams we completed against were well coached, so the instruction was very good. Considering the area this facility serves it is definitely of low quality to the point of questionable safety. Delaware county is above average income for central Ohio and they deserve a top notch facility. This is not it.

Amazing gymnastics center! This gym trains little tots up to adults! This facility houses equipment for top notch athletes to excel in the sport of gymnastics & TNT. pricing for classes are competitive and extremely reasonable for the amazing coaching you will receive. While this facility is a primary training ground for many local high school/middle school teams, the gym may not be huge, or the size of some high school gymnasiums, but COGC trains athletes who are able to compete on national levels, yes I said NATIONAL!!!! COGC staff is very friendly and responsive to all of your concerns. I am confident putting my trust into this facility, staff and programs.

My daughter spent years in gymnastics. We paid thousands of dollars and she did have fun, but her knees started to really get torn up and swell daily. We went to Nationwide Children's sports medicine, went to physical therapy and they had her reduce how much she did, told her to stop if she had pain etc. It kept causing her pain so she decided to quit. We sent an email to the gym and thanked them for everything and explained why she was leaving. We never heard anything back. Not a peep. Completely unprofessional. My daughter left sad and disheartened, she thought she had solid friends and a home away from home just to discover this wasn't truly the case. We are so sad.
