7 years agoOne of my favorite places to unwind and escape city life. With it being just outside of Madison, tucked in the quiet neighborhood on the Northside, it's a perfect retreat from the chaos that is humanity. Nice manicured paths that wind up a down through hills, prairies, marshes, ponds and tranquil forests. You run into all sorts of wildlife, so don't be surprised if you run into a family of geese or deer grazing in the woods or the occasional muskrat playfully running through the reeds.

2 years agoOne of my favorite hikes. Peaceful and tons of birds. Usually not very busy. I always see a lot of different bird species and deer when I come. Turkeys too:)

4 years agoWonderful views from trails! Entrances to trails can be a little hard to find from parking lots, but definitely worth that little bit of wandering about. Favorite one starts to the left of the boat launch. Really well maintained - big thank you to the great parks workers! A very pleasant place in spring, summer, or fall.
