Chillino Rock Climbing

I’ve worked with Fabi + his team for multiple rock climbing meetups in San Diego. His team of patient and professional climbers makes anyone comfortable when trying the sport for the first time. Looking forward to hosting more events with Chillino!

If I could give this experience 6/5 stars, I absolutely would! I attended the Chillino Sessions at Mission trails San Diego this past weekend, and it was everything I hoped for and more. While I have indoor climbing experience, I wanted a safe and structured environment to transition to outdoor climbing and develop new skills--and this session delivered. The 15-minute hike up is definitely a challenge, but our guides made sure we took plenty of breaks. Our instructors, Fabi (the owner) and Kyle, were phenomenal. From the start, Fabi asked each of us what we wanted to learn and tailored the session accordingly. I was eager to learn how to set up an anchor, so he took a small group aside to teach us in detail, while Kyle worked with those ready to start climbing. Fabi's instruction was incredibly thorough, and safety was always the top priority--which I really appreciated. On top of anchor-building, I also learned how to rappel safely and execute a proper hand jam in a crack. Both Fabi and Kyle were patient, knowledgeable, and super encouraging. I felt completely safe the entire time, and they were more than happy to answer any questions we had. Now, I'm feeling that satisfying post-climb soreness, and I can't wait to come back! This experience was worth every penny for the skills, confidence, and safety knowledge I gained. Even with a two-hour drive from OC, I'll definitely be back when I get another free weekend. If you're considering booking--do it! And don't forget to tip your guides--they truly deserve it for the incredible experience they provide.

I had the pleasure of taking an introductory to rock climbing course with Kyle Heavey & Miguel Jones. I can’t recommend this course enough to anyone that is curious to learn the basics and fundamentals of rock climbing. They both went out of their way to explain the proper techniques and were very patient with the group. Very professional, kind and fun experience. It was clear that they have a ton of experience and love sharing tips in an easy to learn environment. I feel like I am much more familiar and comfortable with rock climbing just after this initial course. I look forward to signing up for the session classes and continuing to learn more and practice with this great group of people. Highly recommend!!

I have climbed with Fabi and his team 3 times. All were super fun experiences, and each time presented new routes to learn. The guides are prepared and knowledgeable about the area. They are flexible and patient in teaching new skills. Each session is filled with good vibes and fun climbing. Highly recommend climbing with Fabi and his team!

I had so much fun on my first outdoor rock climbing experience! I learned how to belay and felt completely safe the entire time. The instructors were super encouraging and really motivated me to try my best. Such an awesome way to step out of my comfort zone—I’d definitely do it again!
