a week agoGreat Touchstone location! It is obviously much newer than the others so everything feels clean, including the crash mats and bathrooms. I like that the gym is spacious but not overloaded with climbs, and is laid out in a way that affords room for different groups to not be right on top of each other like it can get at The Post. Reminds me of Sender One LAX! I'd say the grading is similar to that of Stronghold in Lincoln Heights. The numbers lie to you and your butt gets kicked, but its doable.

a week agoI've been to many TS gyms up and down the coast and I'm lucky to be able to call C5 my home gym. Great location, great parking, awesome wall features that are unique, and super clean. Best TS gym for me overall, by a long shot. Staff is all friendly too.

5 months agoHuge bouldering space! Definitely my new favorite gym in socal. Big parking lot shared with nearby businesses. Has feet washing stations and free towels, shower stalls, lockers and a workout area with some machines. Grading seems reasonable and on par with surrounding gyms.

4 months agoI recently went to Class 5. Overall is a great gym and I love the layout. I think the only reason I’m giving this gym a 4/5 is because of the sauna. Unfortunately it just doesn’t get that hot. I would say it hovers somewhere in 140F-160F based on other saunas I’ve been to at other climbing gyms which hover between 185-205f. But if the sauna is not that important to you then this gym is 5 stars!!!! Great equipment! Nice layout! Aesthetically pleasing can’t really ask for more :).

5 months agoReally interesting experience at Class 5 today. It’s a MASSIVE space though I typically climb in Australia / the UK so it might just feel big for me. It’s super well equipped, there’s a sauna in the bathroom and great showers and lockers. The staff were friendly and helpful. Really cool that you can top/lead/boulder in one place. I only bouldered and enjoyed the wall types they had available. There’s quite a lot of slabby stuff and some interesting cave/overhung features. I enjoyed most of the route setting but didn’t find many routes that really flowed, I’d happily put this down to being more used to euro route setters. The grading is quite soft and there was an abundance of climbs at every grade up to V8, with a bit less for V9+. The only thing I didn’t love was the atmosphere, it’s such a big space and there was still a lot of empty areas which I’m sure will fill up over time. It was also pretty quiet when I was there (4pm-6pm) so didn’t get much of a feel for what the climbing community is like in this gym. Again, sure this will evolve as the gym has time to find its feet! 4.5*
