6 months agoThis festival is NOT THE STATE FAIR. If you want a large fair then you can go to the State Fair in Raleigh and have a great time. That being said, we actually chose to skip the State Fair this year and just go to the Harvest Festival in Clayton three days in a row because it is NOT as big. There is no fee to get in. This is great for those of us with young kids and friends with babies who can’t go on rides but still want to go for an hour and not have to SPEND $20 for mom and dad to walk the kids around. There are definitely enough rides to have fun. Last year my oldest could only ride one ride because of his age but he had a lot of fun riding that over and over since the lines are not long except for a few hour window on peak days. This is one of the greatest perks of this Festival! This year, 2024, I noticed that all of the best rides were at Harvest Festival. There had to be at least 15 different rides. Around half were the height retirement of 32 inches I believe? The bigger ones were 38 inches. We did the $60 for 60 tickets instead of the 1 ticket for $1.50. Games are cash only though so keep that in mind. We definitely enjoyed this fair and anyone who doesn’t either doesn’t have the proper expectations for this small town fair or they had a problem with a particular vendor at the fair which has nothing to do with the harvest festival as a whole. We will co time to go back and enjoy our time as a family there whenever the festival is here! Thank you to everyone involved and to the Clayton Police who stayed there all night every night it was open to help keep the fair family friendly!

6 months agoMe, My husband, our 5 year old daughter, and my mother went to the Clayton Harvest festival on Sat. 10/26..... My mother and I both wore tin foil hats as our "costumes. ".... it was lighthearted and fun at first. TONS of people were giving us thumbs up and laughing/thinking it was funny. We would joke to people about how we didn't want the government reading our thoughts or that we were wearing them to protect us from 5G.... THEN, OUT OF NOWHERE...A GROUP OF 3 CRAZY WOMEN WHO WERE RUNNING A BOOTH STARTED TAKING PICS OF US AND SNARLING. The women then began going up to the veterans booths and police officers and DEMANDING them to tell us to remove our tin foil hats..... THE INSANE WOMEN SAID "IT'S THE KKK....IT'S THE CLAN" .... THEY THOUGHT THAT MY 70 YEAR OLD MOTHER AND I WERE ACTUAL CLAN MEMBERS... These people were lunatics..... It was the most hilarious crap I've ever been through in my life. They would not let up. They were fuming with anger and rage. I suggest for everyone to wear their own tin foil hat when you go just in case they are there again. 😉

2 years agoThank you again Maria/Valerie, For all your hard work in making this event the most organized event ever for Decorative Coasters N Things! No matter what problems you had with other vendors- many of their problems would have been resolved by reading all the detailed and great information you provided before vendors made the trip. EVERY ASPECT OF THIS EVENT WAS GREAT FOR US! Don't beat yourself up for the 'bad' apples or negative remarks from any vendors not reading information or following guidelines! CLAYTON HARVEST FESTIVAL 2022 was by far the best we ever experienced as vendors!!! Please keep up the great work I know you and Valerie will continue to do for any events you host and please drop us line for any new events you host in the future. Now, I will send all my compliments to all the Festival Net organizations and other vendors I know! I thank you, Valerie, all the volunteers, and ROTC volunteers for making our days so easy and without stress! Volunteers continued to ask us if we need help throughout the day! Keep walking in the Lord's ways! Happy Monday!

a year agoOnline leads to look like a bigger, more fun event. Pretty boring for anyone over 10 years old. Few food options, few vendors, less than 10 rides.
