All of the animals were beautiful and the caretakers were lovely and chill. Everything was great. I just felt bad that the animals have to deal with screaming kiddos all of the time. But for the most part people behaved appropriately. Beautiful zoo. Would go back again!

Really enjoyed visiting The Cougar Mountain Zoo for the first time today. While a colder winter day, it was so much fun to feed the reindeer, alpaca, and deer with bits of apple and pellet food. The alpaca and deer could eat directly from our hands. I loved it! Seeing the adorable porcupines with their care take was fantastic as well. Had fun dancing with the Macaws and listening to them talk.

This zoo is cool! The cranes are super funny, and so are the emus! But to be honest, there aren't that many animals, I don't know if that is good or bad. When I saw the reindeer, they looked very skinny. Maybe they're always like that 😳 not sure. The animals are cool. There are two Tigers and they're siblings and so every day, they alternate between the Tigers. They're pretty old, so they don't do much, only when they are learning tricks for food. By far, the coolest animals were definitely the lemurs. There are 3 different species. One of the species has a boy and girl, and the zoo keepers hope they reproduce. But another one of the species there are a boy and a girl, they're siblings, so they will send one of them away due to the fact they might have a child which isn't good. I learned a lot! Cool zoo, but I'm not sure how well they treat the animals. Animals kinda look at little depressed 3 1/2 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Visited the first of December. All of the enclosures are much too small for the sanity and comfort of these wild animals. In the small space allotted, there is not enough stimulation. Lots of exhibits "out of order." Even the tropical birds, but we heard a parrot, so I wonder what the reason was for keeping that exhibit closed. The tigers paced the tiny enclosure constantly. Looking at patrons, eyes begging to be let free. So many of the animals had pleading eyes. The wolves had more space, but not enough for them. There is a small amount of land with a blackberry thicket behind their enclosure, I can't help wondering why the wealthy zoo patrons won't purchase it and make a little more room for their existing animals. The cougars tried to hide from the public....their enclosure also way too small. Even the emus don't have enough room. One crane obsessively pecked at a joint in the fence, obviously trying anything to escape. You can see in my video that it hears a loud noise and stops for a few moments and looks around, then goes back to it. I hesitated a long time before posting this, because I know the cranes will probably be punished for this behavior by changes being made to their enclosure. The visiting reindeer were too many in too small of a place, and as another reviewer said, the environment nothing like their natural one. What we think is cold in the PNW is warm to them, maybe even hot. There is an owl and a hawk in stunningly small enclosures. Cruel. You can see most of the enclosure in my photo of the owl. I realize that is probably not where they live all the time, they are just in those for display to the public (I hope), but the owl is sitting on the ground. You can't fashion some sort of branch or stump for it to perch on? I love animals, but it hurts to see them suffering so. Even if they cannot be released into the wild, they should be in a sanctuary situation. The entire zoo should hold maybe one or two of the species like tiger, cougar, wolf...they need lots of room. This zoo is the equivalent of a human living in a small hotel room and never leaving.

My 14 month old and I spontaneously decided to do a zoo trip today and I didn't want to fight Seattle traffic! So we tried out Cougar Mountain Zoo for the first time! It was great! Very clean and all the employees were very nice, knowledgeable, and attentive! We saw tours happening for a school field trip and I was impressed at how much the kids were engaged with the zoo tour guides! The size of the zoo is small, but it was perfect for my young toddler to enjoy. We will definitely go back!
