6 years agoIt had been 28 years since I last ran whitewater in a kayak, so I deemed it prudent to hire a private guide to ensure I'd safely complete my geezer glory run down the South Fork American. Don and Mist at Current Adventures / The River Store fielded my questions and accommodated my peculiar scheduling needs, and teemed me up with a fun, experienced and competent guide - Dennis - who helped refresh my rolls, surfs, ferries and other techniques before running the gorge. I highly recommend you work with the folks at Current Adventures / The River Store to make sure your run is fun!

a year agoWent out on loon lake for my first kayak adventure. They outfitted us with great boats and all the gear. I'm sorry if I get it wrong but, Ken and Nick were great hosts and awesome guides. The other guests were all friendly. Great food, great folks, great fun. We'll definitely be going back to "Current Adventures", next time we get the chance. Thanks, Mikey.

3 years agoI had a great time. I signed up for a 4 day accelerated class and got more then I was looking for. This class is not for the weekend warriors out there. You need good core strength, flexibility and stamina. There is a ton of river time and the instructors are very knowledgeable. You never stop being challenged and even though there are bound to be many skill levels in the class everyone is given enough individual attention that no one is left out.. The instructors never stop making sure you are using the best gear for you and by the end of the class you are dialed in. This was a great opportunity to have an expert out fit me. Thank you Kim and Sean.

5 years agoI NEVER write reviews, but couldn't believe Dan and his crew only have 5!! We met up with them last year for the final Eppie's Great Race training and kayak rental. The whole experience was amazing! The river training was hands on and individualized, even though we signed up for the group, and SO MUCH FUN WOOHOO!!! The day of the race, our kayaks that we had trained in were waiting for us at the river. We just had to carry them to the staging area. After the race, we brought them up to Current Adventures' trailer and that was it!! We are signed up for the first Great American Triathlon this year and can't wait to work with these awesome guys again!!

3 years agoA terrific opportunity to learn here about river kayaking. They offer many different classes for all skill levels. In addition, they have everything you need to get outfitted for kayaking. The instructor was very knowledgeable and provided the right amount of instruction for the students.
