Expert Summary

Detailed Insights

Dave & Buster's Edina has undergone a significant remodel, transforming into a brighter, more open, and modern entertainment complex that feels notably more family-friendly. It offers an extensive selection of arcade games, including new machines and dedicated areas for racing games, alongside a full-service restaurant. While food quality can be inconsistent for some items, there are highly recommended dishes and new kid-friendly drink options. The venue can get quite busy, and occasional non-working games are a reported issue, but staff are visible and attentive.

Key Highlights

  • Recently remodeled with a 'much FRESHER vibe,' brighter lighting, and a modern, open atmosphere, eliminating dark, 'cave-like' areas.
  • The bar area is now open, brightly lit, and equipped with 20 flat screens, making it a 'sports fans dream' and significantly more family-friendly.
  • Improved game layout: racing games are now on the right side near restrooms, and games on the left are separated from the bar by a wall for better noise reduction.
  • Added a new party room to the dining area, supplementing the existing one in the rear game area.
  • Specific food items like the 'fantastic' Smashed Burger and Fish & Chips with 'great crispy fries' (from the Eat/Play menu) received high praise.
  • New kid-friendly non-alcoholic drinks (e.g., 'Sota' options) are available and were a hit with children.
  • Attentive service observed post-remodel, with multiple staff members checking on dining guests in addition to the primary server.
  • The 'River duck claw machine' is a specific highlight, noted for its 'play until you win' feature and cute ducks.
  • Staff are observed 'constantly walking around picking up cups and working on machines,' indicating active maintenance and cleanliness efforts.

Standout Features

  • Significantly improved atmosphere and lighting due to the recent remodel, offering a modern and fresh feel.
  • Vast selection of new arcade games, including a re-located racing game section.
  • Dedicated party rooms for group events, with a new one added to the dining area.
  • Large, brightly lit bar area with 20 flat screens, enhancing the sports viewing experience for adults.
  • Noise level separation between some game areas and the bar, creating a more pleasant environment.
  • Specific 'play until you win' River duck claw machine, a unique and engaging game.
  • Availability of distinct kid-friendly non-alcoholic drink options.

Perfect For

Families with Children (all ages): The remodel has made the entire venue, including the bar area, much more open and brighter, enhancing its family-friendly appeal. Kid-friendly non-alcoholic drinks are available.
Teens & Young Adults: Offers a 'fun arcade experience with all the new games,' ideal for 'date night' or outings with friends and coworkers, with alcoholic beverages available.
Adults (Sports Fans): The bar area's 20 flat screens make it 'a sports fans dream' for watching games in a modern, open setting.

Ideal For

Family outings seeking a combined dining and arcade experience in a modern setting.
Birthday parties or large group gatherings, especially with the available party rooms.
Parents looking for a brighter, more open, and less 'cave-like' arcade environment than typical.
Sports fans who want to enjoy games on large screens while their families play.
Date nights for couples who enjoy arcade games and a lively atmosphere.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • **Order Strategically:** Focus on highly recommended food items like the Smashed Burger, Fish & Chips (from the Eat/Play menu), and the Crispy Chicken Strips. Manage expectations for prime rib or chicken parm.
  • **Verify Allergy Requests:** If you have allergies, explicitly confirm with staff that all specific requests are understood and met, as one reviewer's order was mishandled.
  • **Arrive Prepared for Crowds:** The venue can be 'very busy,' so anticipate potential wait times or a bustling atmosphere, especially during peak hours or for parties.
  • **Inspect Games Before Swiping:** Since some games may be out of order and cause lost points, quickly check if a game appears functional before swiping your card.
  • **Consider Sharing Dessert:** The new Brownie Bites Dessert is large enough to 'easily make 2-3 people happy,' making it a good sharing option.
  • **Pre-browse Menus:** To avoid being overwhelmed by the 'archeological dig' of multiple menus, consider looking up the food and Eat/Play menus online before your visit.

Things to Consider

  • Food quality is inconsistent; the prime rib was served well-done despite a medium request, thin, and fatty. Chicken parm was a 'disappointing' breaded patty, and chicken in nachos was 'deff wasn't a fan.'
  • Allergy request for nachos (no pico, salsa, cilantro on side) was mishandled; only cilantro was put on the side, with no salsa or pico provided.
  • Multiple games were reported as not working properly, with some causing players to lose points/credits after swiping cards without prior indication.
  • The venue can be 'very busy,' particularly for parties, which might affect service speed and game access.
  • An overwhelming number of menus (regular, Eat/Play, promotional, dessert/drink stand-up) can be presented at once, making ordering an 'archeological dig.'
  • The beer list is described as poor, suggesting limited options for adult beverages.
  • General service (non-bartender) was described as 'inexperienced or maybe just not the highest caliber.'

Price & Value

Food pricing was described as 'not as exorbitant as I expected,' suggesting reasonable value. However, losing points on broken games directly translates to wasted money, impacting overall value.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations mentioned in the reviews, but the remodel has resulted in a more 'open' layout, which could indirectly improve navigability.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Full-service restaurant on-site with a variety of menu options, including specific 'Eat/Play' menus.
  • Offers new kid-friendly non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Alcoholic beverages (beers, cocktails) are available, though the beer selection is reportedly poor.
  • No information provided regarding outside food; typical D&B policy prohibits outside food.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not mentioned in the provided reviews.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Can be 'very busy,' especially during peak times and for parties.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Workers were observed 'constantly walking around picking up cups and working on machines,' implying active monitoring and maintenance of the facility.

When to Avoid

  • If gourmet dining or highly consistent food quality is your priority, as some dishes may disappoint.
  • If precise allergy accommodation is critical without extra verification, due to past mishandling.
  • If you have low tolerance for broken arcade games that might consume credits without play.
  • If you are seeking a quiet or intimate dining experience, as it can be very busy and noisy.
  • If a broad selection of craft or specialty beers is important, as the beer list is considered poor.

Dave and busters Dave and busters was very busy. I did get as many pictures as i could. We were in a party so unfortunately we couldnt get food pictures but i did get lots of pictures. I tried the prime rib with garlic butter, mash potatoes and green beans.. I asked for the prime rib to be medium we all know I love my steaks medium. Prime rib with garlic butter- as usual steak was not medium not even pink it was well done. We were in a party so I didnt want to send it back. The prime rib was long but thin, lots of fat. The garlic butter was food, mash potatoes were good as were the thin green beans. The other critic ordered the chicken parm pasta- It was a breaded chicken patty, cheese melted on patty. That tasted disappointing however the pasta was bery good with the tomatoes. We also ordered the chicken cantina nachos. Due to allergys we asked for the peco and salsa and cilantro to be on the side with extra sour cream… well they put the cilantro on the side but did not give us the salsa or peco. The chips were good, cheese was good, chicken i deff wasnt a fan but the jalapenos were yummy. Also ordered was crispy chicken strips. Chicken was good breading on ends hard but thats everywhere, fries were good. The big tvs are awesome! I did take lots of pictures but unfortunately the review page doesnt accept more then I posted. The waitress was very busy but awesome.

We are D&B regulars in Maple Grove but decided to go to D&Bs in Edina yesterday—our Easter visit. The entire place has been remodeled and it’s definitely a step up in atmosphere/ambiance and lighting. It has a much FRESHER vibe. Gone are the booths that wrapped around the bar with the walls so high wait staff can’t see you. I never realized how dark and cave-like this place actually was until I saw the refresh. Lighting is majorly improved! The bar area is much more open, modern and brightly lit. 20 flat screens make it a sports fans dream. You have no sense of eating in a dark “bar” area so it’s much more family friendly. My attraction to watching sports is extremely idiosyncratic (e.g., golf, hockey, triathlon, maybe boxing). Looking at this set-up, I kinda wish I liked watching football and baseball. 😆 GAMES: If you’re going, you’ll find some of the games in different areas. The racing games are now on the right side of the entrance near the rest rooms. That is always “home” for us. The games on the left side are now separated from the bar area with a wall so the noise level seemed better. Not sure how to categorize the games on this side except to say “not racing games.” There is still a Party Room in the rear of this area and another one added to the dining area. FOOD: We always have lunch before we play and the food seemed better than usual. I had a fantastic Smashed Burger from their Eat/Play menu and it was AMAZING. My son had the Fish & Chips with great crispy fries. He also ordered a NEW Brownie Bites Desert that could easily make 2-3 people happy. Wow. They’ve added a few kid-friendly non-alcoholic drinks (think “Sota”) and my son was thrilled. During the course of our meal, we had TWO people ask us how we were doing? how was our meal? in addition to the server. That’s a nice touch in any restaurant. My only negative was that when we sat down we had so many menus! There was the regular food menu, the Eat/Play menu (like 3-4), a Mommy & Me promo schedule (asked Sam if he wanted to go with me? lol) and a stand-up table promo of the new desserts and drinks. Should we study before we come? Just might be better to consolidate “all that.” It was a lot to receive at once. Like an archeological dig to decide on your meal. Otherwise, it was a GREAT time.

I had a great time coming here with my coworkers. We ordered a few party platters and drinks. I ordeered the frosty coconut. It was great. We played games all evening. There were a few broken games but otherwise everything was working fine. When I go back I probably won't order food again because it was not that impressive. Just play games.

Dave & Buster’s was exactly what I thought it would be. A fun arcade experience with all the new games. It was cool to see the new machines they got and to walk around and play games on a date night. It was clean and I saw workers constantly walking around picking up cups and working on machines. Which is where I would have given it a better rating, but I was a bit disappointed in how many games weren’t working properly. A couple of them we definitely lost points on just because it didn’t work at all, but didn’t show signs until after we swiped our cards. An employee was walking around working on a few different ones and being pulled away to work on others in the couple hours we were there. That said, there were plenty of games that were just fine. It wasn’t a big deal, just a bit disappointing. Overall it was still fun and I got a kick out of the River duck claw machine. I loved that it was play until you win. The ducks were cute. I don’t have a rating for food since we were just there for the arcade.

Food was actually fairly decent and the pricing not as exorbitant as I expected and you get to play fun games with all your friends while drinking beers or cocktails(not at the same time I don't think). Overall great experience just the food is not the greatest and the beer list sucks. Service was inexperienced or maybe just not the highest caliber but the bartenders seemed decent from afar.
