4 months agoTL;DR: Denver Zoo Lights is a magical experience with stunning displays, delicious food, and even some animal sightings. A must-do, especially on a calm evening. Denver Zoo Lights was an amazing experience! The light displays were absolutely incredible, and our group had a wonderful time strolling through the zoo, enjoying the festive atmosphere and even spotting a few animals along the way. The food was hot and delicious—exactly what we needed to warm up. The relatively calm weather that night made it all the more enjoyable. This is a must-visit event for anyone looking to experience holiday magic in Denver.

a year agoI have never been to the zoo, lights, and all the years I’ve lived in Denver. I got to go my very first time with my granddaughter. Bought the glow package which gave you a pair of glasses paper that made the lights kind of star. And a Souvenir cup that you could either have hot cocoa or cider. I had the hot cocoa and it was actually really good. Exhibit however, were so packed you couldn’t enjoy them and barely stand to look at anything or have any conversation whatsoever. I went while it was snowing and it was still that packed. A lot of the lights were not working on the features. I didn’t think they were quite as grand as I was told. But it was still very pretty and unique. They were sold out, so I’m glad I bought my tickets way in advance. I suggest everybody get their tickets when advance and print them out prior to going.

2 months agoOne of the best things you can do during the winter. A relaxing walk through the zoo at night. If your neurodivergent, I'd recommend trying to avoid any of the major holidays or weekends as it tends to be overstuffed with loud children and adults who are paying way more attention to the lights than each other than their surroundings. That being said, it's for good reason. This is an amazing date events. Despite it being a holiday event intended for the season of giving, it does have an overwhelmingly loving vibe. Even as a child, this felt like one of the most magical events that I was able to attend, visiting a location after it's supposed to be closed, seeing bright colorful lights everywhere that I can interact with in a lot of instances. And then getting to see the animals how they would act at night when there were less people around. Any of the creatures that are allowed to be out during the night time are far more active and interesting during this time. There are also many holiday themed treats that can be ordered including hot cocoa (practically mandatory if you're going during February) And some delicious cookies. I'd recommend starting a path that takes you by the reptiles the felines The birds And the primates. As each one of these locations to my knowledge is open during the offense and has climate control allowing you to take a break from the harsh Colorado winter. Also definitely definitely definitely buy your tickets in advance. You will not be able to make it through the whole event if you have to wait 10 to 30 minutes in line which is how long I remember it be. It's been awhile since I've been myself as my budget hasn't allowed me to go. But I suspect it's much the same.
