6 months agoWe love Derthick's Corn Maze!! Even though we are very busy with our own harvest season during the fall, we make it a point to carve out a day to come up for a day of family fun at the maze. Between the bucking cow ride, archery, air cannon, yard games on steroids, corn box, slides, animals, hay bale playground (our kid's personal favorite), and more, there's enough to keep a family entertained for a whole day without ever even stepping foot in the maze itself. The maze itself is nothing short of incredible though! The amount of work that goes into creating such a mega-sized masterpiece is huge, and they do such a good job of keeping it nice (though I know some people baulk at not being allowed to crash through the cornstalks that took all season to grow 🙄). I know from talking to the family that each individual corn kernel is precision planted into the shape that they have chosen, which is REALLY cool, and I love that the corn gets harvested at the end so that you can have a working farm that is fun and creative, but also functional and hopefully profitable. We are real cheapskates 😅, so we never indulge in the zip lines or other add-on activities, but for what you pay to get in, you get more than enough bang for your buck! Last but not least, Derthick's Hill is the highest point in Portage County, and the incredible view of the beautiful fall colors from the top of the hill this time of year is just breathtaking. Mr. Derthick once told me that on a clear day you could see all the way to Lake Erie from the top of his silo! Though they clearly cannot allow customers to climb the silo, I would love to see the view from the top some day. I know that their last weekend is coming up shortly, so be sure to check out this aMAZEing farm before they close for the year!

6 months agoMy kid had so much fun at this farm. There are so much for to do and it is not overcrowded. 2 years ago, we got lost in the large corner maze. This year we redeemed ourselves!!

7 months agoDid the PYO sunflowers. Also have cosmos, zinnias, and cornflowers. Lovely field with lots to pick. Also butterflies, hummingbirds, and goldfinches. Got a beautiful bouquet. Will definitely do it again.

7 months agoMy family and I had a fantastic time when we visited today. It’s the perfect spot for a family outing, with plenty of activities to enjoy. I highly recommend it to everyone. We went on a Sunday, but next time, I’m considering staying until midnight on a Saturday.

6 months agoWe brought our toddlers here and we all had a blast! It’s hard to find activities they are big enough to participate in and they were able to bounce on the bounce pad, play in the sand hill, walk through a small maze (they have a couple of different sizes and this was perfect for their attention span), go down the big slide, ride the tractor cow train, and their favorite part was the animal barn with the play sets. They also had different food trucks with price points comparable to our local fairs and festivals. When it got dark they had an old kids movie playing on a projector near the front sheds. Overall, we all had a great time and can’t wait to go back!
