in the last weekWe went for the first time with our two kids and we were surprised by how much we loved it! Highly recommend for families. We went during a weekday, and it was super chill. It was bigger than what we had imagined. Luckily, it is very stroller friendly, but there are some hills. I will definitely return!

2 months agoVery beautiful place. My mother (who is quite old) used to walk around here with her grandfather I assume when it opened. This place is her safe haven. I love it as well and kind of miss it before it became really capitalized. The holiday events such as winter and Halloween are very fun. They have really grown and now Descanso is always busy. Growing up, it was always empty unless there was an event. I am glad people are appreciating this place more. And by the way, the tulips in spring ARE EVERYTHING.

2 months agoBeautiful, peaceful, organized, great light shows for the Enchanted Forest event. There are several stations, you won't get bored. It's dusty, don't bring white shoes! We spent a good 2 hours touring the gardens, taking pictures, and sipping on hot chocolate. Very nice for date night. Family friendly well. Some of the children can get rowdy and overtake the exhibits but they tend to move along quickly to the next place. This is great for a slow stroll. Don't miss the miniature trains too!

a month agoDescanso Gardens is one of our favorite botanical garden here in California. Last year for Mother’s Day 2024, we took my mother in law and immediately she fell in love with the place right away. The flowers were all blooming that time and the place was field with so many colors. The ambiance is so serene and perfect if you’re taking a reset from the hustle and bustle life in the city. Not too long ago, my husband and I had a date night and we indulged ourselves to the majestic ambiance of Enchanted Forest. It soothes our souls as we finished all the trails and enjoyed different motifs each trail. The food is a little bit pricey but worth to try. Definitely we will come back again and hopefully to bring more friends and family. So worth it and highly recommended park 💕

a month agoVisited Descanso Gardens with my family. You have a total of 10 exhibits to look through. The pace of how fast you can go through them is ultimately up to you. We usually spend about 1 to 1.5 hours there. If you like taking pictures, you can be there much longer. There is plenty to look at and worth the price. If you are expecting this to be Christmas themed and santa to come out, it won't happen. However, I highly recommend this spot for all ages.
