Dogpatch Paddle

We had a great time kayaking with Dogpatch paddle! We took a guided tour, as it was our first time kayaking in the ocean. The guide was great and adjusted things to our experience and comfort. We also had a great experience where a seal followed us back to the cove, swimming with us the whole way and popping its head up every so often. It was an amazing experience!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dogpatch Foil! I can't remember my instructor's name, but he was so kind and knowledgeable. I actually went to two lessons a year apart. The only barrier to me going more is that it is so expensive for one lesson (over $300). The instructor explained the super high cost of the foil itself, so I understand the need to increase the lesson price. I would love to do this more regularly, but cannot for this reason. I decided to splurge on the first lesson and was gifted the second lesson. We put in at Crane Cove Park. I have been there many times but never swam in the water. I was outfitted with a wetsuit, helmet, and booties. I never felt cold while in the water. During my first lesson, they connected this radio to the helmet so I could speak to the instructor while out. It was super helpful because he could give me real-time feedback. In my second lesson, they did not have radios, so it was harder to communicate during the lesson. It really is so fun to foil, and I highly recommend it to anyone who might want to give it a try. If you wanted to feel comfortable doing it, unless you regularly surge/skateboard, it would probably take 3-5 lessons before you are zooming around standing completely, so definitely factor that in when it comes to cost.

Chose an excellent day to kayak for a 2-hour rental on a tandem kayak. Quality equipment was provided. At 9 am the water was calm and middle of tide out. Easy access to beach and very enjoyable 2 hours in the bay. Could see the boats and dock up close and also saw some seals basking in the sun ! Will come back again to be venture further out.

The owner was super friendly, explained the paddle boarding path very detailed and ensured we felt comfortable out in the water. It was super quiet and peaceful by the waters and overall an amazing experience! Hoping to come back soon :)

This camp was epic for my son, he absolutely loved it. He’s attended 3 different sessions (summer, spring and winter) and plans on going back for more. He even wants to be a camp counselor there when he is old enough. Adam, the owner, is wonderful, super knowledgeable of all things Paddle, water, tide and currents and is so great with the kids. His bank counselors are great with the kids as well, my son came home talking about how fun they are which I personally love to hear. We even purchased 2 paddles boards from Adam at his end of season sale. Would absolutely recommend this camp to any child. My son had gained such confidence from camp and being on the water, and one with the water. Has no hesitations about getting into the bay/ocean. Love this camp!
