a month agoGreat place to hike in Fort Worth. You get some good views of Eagle Mtn Lake from up high and also down by the water. There are also heavily wooded parts and pretty wildflowers to see.

5 months agoMultiple tasks and loops provide the opportunity to take the length of your walk - from short walks to 6+ miles. Most trails are wide and smooth, but there are hilly sections with rocks. Nice views of the lake are possible, secluded beaches for hanging out or fishing and plenty of wildlife. Lots of picnic tables near the entrance and several benches scattered at intervals along the trail.

5 months agoThis is a very special place in my experience, foot traffic only. NO bikes, NO horses, NO dogs. This makes it an exceptional place to bring small children and have a very relaxed walk up and down the hills around the lake. The DFW area has several bike only areas, it's wonderful to have a foot only area of this size and quality. I did every inch of trail and a side poke to a beached houseboat. A wonderful mix of shaded hills and shoreline areas with some out in the open across grassy areas on the Southern loop. A very nice mix. Picnic tables in several areas with benches once in awhile as well. The only thing that would make it better would be proper bathrooms at the trailhead. It was VERY busy on this gorgeous fall Sunday and the two porta potties were atrocious.

4 months agoWhere Nature Meets Glamour Shots Eagle Mountain Park is hands down one of my favorite places to escape. The trails are amazing, winding through gorgeous terrain that makes you feel like an intrepid explorer (minus the danger). And then there are the armadillos. So many armadillos. They’re like the park’s unofficial mascots, just waddling around. But the real magic happens at golden hour. That’s when the park transforms into a photography battleground. Want family portraits? Engagement photos? Senior pictures? No need to book in advance—just show up and let one of the dozen photographers with fancy cameras and dreamy lighting setups fight for your business. Whether you’re here for the trails, the wildlife, or an accidental cameo in someone’s engagement shoot, Eagle Mountain Park delivers. Just don’t trip over a tripod on your way out.

6 months agoMy go-to park. It's like stepping onto another planet. Breathtaking views and challenging trails. I love seeing all the deer at dusk. And so much cacti and yucca plants!
