10 months agoReally beautiful garden and sanctuary! It's such a wonderful green space full of gorgeous wildflowers that change with the seasons, so it's perfect for visits throughout the spring, summer, and fall. The area is very well-maintained by the friendly and helpful volunteers and naturalists, who also give frequent tours. I would definitely recommend checking it out to practically anyone! You would especially love it if you enjoy tranquil walks through woods and meadows, or have a deep appreciation for the natural world. Not to mention it is free for all to enjoy!

8 months agoBeautiful area with a variety of landscapes, including shady woods, a bog, and meadow featuring different types of wildflower. We visited in mid-August and there were still plenty of flowers in bloom and few biting bugs. A cute little cabin houses a visitor center with hands-on activities for kids. Friendly staff available to help answer questions. There's some construction going on at the entrance currently but the rest of the area is unchanged.

12 months agoWonderful area to stroll along and take in the wildflowers (and see the owl if you're lucky!) People of all ages were out and enjoying the flowers in the early spring. Many of the flowers were marked with signs, and the volunteer at the gate provided a map and direction to where to see the elusive dwarf trout lilies. The woman working in the nature center was also super friendly and informative.

11 months agoI absolutely love the Eloise Butler wildflower garden. Such a serene spot and so well kept. The paths are mulched so you never have to squelch through the mud. So many beautiful woodland wildflowers and species of trees. Great info in the visitors center, knowledgeable and helpful staff. It's a peaceful green oasis complete with croaking frogs, it's hard to believe you're in the city. Minneapolis Parks are amazing!

a year agoThis place is a wonderful hidden gem! The walking trails are well maintained and the volunteers are wonderful. Two years ago we saw a little snake hanging out in the brush. This year we saw many beautiful flowers in bloom. We also found the visitor station which was absolutely wonderful. There are water fountains and bathroom throughout the property. The parking was free since the machines were down, which was an added bonus!!
