2 weeks agoGreat trail for beginners and experts alike. This is the first time I went on a trial and it was a great starting point for a beginner like me. The trail has multiple view points so even if you can’t go too far, you can still enjoy the beautiful view by going to the first view point that takes just about 5 minutes.

3 weeks agoEnsign Peak Trailhead offers a delightful hiking experience that is perfect for families, including kids and dogs. The trail is well-maintained and provides a gentle, easy-going hike that spans 2 miles if you choose to take the full loop. For those looking for a shorter adventure, the 1-mile trek up to the stunning viewpoint and back is equally rewarding. The trail is accessible for all skill levels, making it an excellent choice for beginners and casual hikers. The path meanders through beautiful scenery, culminating in an incredible panoramic view that makes the journey worthwhile. The vista at the top is a breathtaking reward, showcasing the surrounding landscape and providing a perfect spot for a family photo or a moment of tranquility. One of the highlights of this trail is its family-friendly atmosphere. Kids will enjoy the manageable distance, and the wide paths allow for easy navigation, even with pets in tow. Dogs are welcome, making it a great choice for pet owners who want to enjoy the outdoors with their furry friends. Overall, Ensign Peak Trailhead is a fantastic option for those seeking a relaxing hike with stunning views. Whether you opt for the full loop or a quick jaunt to the viewpoint, you're sure to enjoy a lovely day in nature!

a week agothis was a really beautiful sunrise hike, and not terribly difficult! Unfortunately, there was a group of very inebriated young men at the first lookout… we got there very early for the sunrise and did not feel safe going to that lookout with them there, so did continue to the higher Lookout point. It’s in a pretty nice area, so we are a little shocked that they went unnoticed. The hike, as I mentioned was not too difficult. The four of us did it with ease and the top Lookout point was absolutely stunning. A 360 view! The first point is accessible via wheelchair, but the second highest point is not FYI. Recommended for Sunset or sunrise due to its 360 view, highly recommend for a short quick hike, if you’re in the area!

a month agoNice trail to see views of Salt Lake City. Be aware that this trail is in the middle of a neighborhood and there is no dedicated parking - street parking is the only option. Beautiful trail and views. Totally worth it!

3 months agoGreat trail! It’s short, a great burst of exercise that’ll burn the legs and get the heart pumping, the views up top are phenomenal, and it’s busy but not too busy where you’re bumping into people, etc. At the peak you’re looking directly down into the city, to the west the lake, east and north the mountains. Plenty of street parking to access the trailhead but it is a popular place so expect plenty of company. Highly recommended!
