7 years agoThis is a great place to take out if you put in at Beckley Creek North. The trip is about 3-4 hours and you get a lot of picnic stops. We like to kayak when the water is greater than 100 CFS. At 1000 it's white water and a blast. But very dangerous. Start out small and work your way up. This take out point has places to chain up you boat while getting back to your put in point or use the bus that rents kayaks.

8 months agoSeptember 2024: water is too shallow to kayak due to drought. From this spot you cannot go up or downstream without dragging your kayak through the shallow spots every hundred yards or so. If water levels were normal, would be an awesome spot.

a month agoEasy access to paddle Floyd’s fork. Unlike at the egg lawn, there is no loading zones. You will have to carry your kyayk yourself about 100 yards.

6 years agoIt is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the water. We had trouble carrying an aluminum canoe back from the water, but I'm not very strong.
