a week agoGreat park! I can't believe I waited so long to visit. I went for my New Years Day hike. I was disappointed that there were employees at the gate in New Years it being a holiday and all. I was even more disappointed when she asked for the gate fee and it was 1$ more than the other Indiana State Parks!!! I honestly should say I was appalled. Overall I was impressed. There is a playground with an in grounds slide. The restrooms were very clean and all of the stalls had toilet paper. I walked the 4 mile trail. It was a bit challenging and I found the way the trail winds in and out of the hills interesting. I drove all the roads and found the old barracks and horse stalls. I also drove past picnic areas. The picnic areas had me think about the hot summers we get and how there aren't many trees around for shade. I'd like to go back and hike this park more but unfortunately I think the open hours will conflict with my schedule.

a month agoWe had a fantastic time exploring playgrounds, walking through the visitor center, and tromping through the woods. There are a number of nice trails through this park and the kids had a good time discovering local flora and fauna. Highly recommended.

3 months agoI started the year off right with a first day hike at fort Harrison. There were alot of people there but it’s so big the trails weren’t crowded. Hot chocolate and cookies were offered. Very nice.

7 months agoWe met some friends for a hike, horse rides and playtime at the play area. Many families celebrating in the shelter houses and passed lots of people on the trail but it didn't seem too crowded. Trails are great for walking, jogging, birding, or just being out in nature. Never the same trip twice! There is so much more to do on our future trips!
