2-4 year olds: May find the main playground equipment 'a little advanced' for independent play but can enjoy the splash pad and supervised use of some structures.
Children of 'all ages': Can find something to enjoy, especially with the versatile water area and nearby attractions, but direct playground engagement varies by age.

Hot days when a splash pad is essential for cooling off and extending playtime.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • If planning to use the splash pad, arrive after 12 PM as it's closed earlier.
  • Be prepared for puddles on the playground if visiting after recent heavy rain.
  • When trying to open the water park gate, remember to pull up on the hinge with some force.
  • Consider utilizing the bus route for convenient access, as it stops directly in front of the park.
  • Explore the surrounding area, including the nearby donut shop, public library, and India Point Park, for additional family activities.
  • Bring swimwear and towels for the splash pad, especially on hot days.

Things to Consider

  • Troublesome puddles, particularly under swings, after heavy rain.
  • Main playground equipment can be 'a little advanced' for 2-year-olds.
  • Splash pad does not open until 12 PM, limiting morning water play.
  • Gate to the water park area can be tricky to open, requiring specific technique (pulling up with force).

Price & Value

This is a public playground, so access to both the playground and splash pad is free, offering excellent value for family entertainment.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • A bus route leads directly in front of the park.
  • Features walking paths, potentially offering smooth surfaces for strollers or wheelchairs to navigate the general area, though specific playground equipment accessibility isn't detailed.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Not explicitly stated, but as a public park, outside food and drinks are typically allowed. The presence of a donut shop across the street suggests families can easily bring or purchase nearby snacks.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not explicitly mentioned, but public parks often have street parking or dedicated lots. The mention of a bus route suggests alternative transportation is encouraged or available.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Not specifically mentioned in the reviews, suggesting it doesn't typically reach overwhelming crowd levels that detract from the experience, though public parks can vary.

🛡️Safety Features

  • A 'very kind staff person on duty' was observed, implying some level of supervision or assistance available on-site.
  • No specific security measures like controlled entry, wristbands, or first aid stations are mentioned.

When to Avoid

  • Expecting toddlers (under 5) to fully engage with all main playground equipment, as some parts are advanced.
  • Early morning visits if the primary reason is to use the splash pad (it opens at noon).
  • Immediately after heavy rain if bothersome puddles are a concern.
  • Trips where you're in a rush to access the water park, as the gate might require a specific opening technique.

Wonderful playground for children all ages I’d think. The Fox Point water area is directly next to it. Walking path behind the baseball field that takes you too the bridge that crosses over 195 west and east bound into India Point area where theNewport Ferry is located as well as India point playground and all sorts of interesting things!

Had a great experience at the Fox Point playground, the water park definitely came in handy as our family was at the park, our kid's wanted play basketball, they did for a while until I seen they were too hot, instead of the day ending and rushing home for that A.C, we let the fun continue at Fox Point, the gate was close, I tried pulling up the hinge to the gate but would not open had to walk around. (The hinge to the gate does open have to pull up and with some force), a Gentlemen came over to us to let us know, we tried it out and it opened. There is a bus route that leads right in front of the park.

A fun public playground. We came a day after a heavy rain and there were some troublesome puddles (like right under the swings). The equipment was a little advanced for my 2 year old, though signs indicate it's built for 5-12. There is also a splash pad which would have been awesome, but it doesn't open until 12. Overall it was fun!

Perfect little park for kids. There's a splash pad/water area with bathrooms/changing rooms and a really cool climber with bells for kids to play. There was a very kind staff person on duty the Friday we visited; she offered us her chairs so we could sit in the shade while our kids played. FYI: there's an awesome doughnut shop and a public library across the street. All the necessities of life!
