Kinda hard to find parking because it is downtown on the campus area but once you get there it's worth it. The museum is on the 1st floor, they have a big globe right in the atrium area then you follow show cases of different types of rocks and actual meteorites and crystals and all things rock related. Then as you get through further you get to the end and there's full size mastodon and dinosaur Skeltons and skulls. The best part is it's free!

Free museum for people who love rocks. It's small but well curated. We're like full on adults and enjoyed it very much, but their were several families with children who clearly enjoyed it. Only open for a few hours on Saturday. Street parking was pretty easy.

A FREE Museum open to the public on UW Madison campus that has a beautiful collection of minerals, gems, meteorites, and fossils. It took us about an hour to go through the entire exhibit (we took a decent amount of time appreciating each exhibit and reading the information cards). I was surprised how large their collection was. They had a wonderful variety of local minerals and meteorites as well as items from around the country and the world at large. This museum is a great place for rock enthusiasts and novice appreciaters. It is also a family-friendly and great to bring kids of all ages. This museum is ADA accessible. There is no parking garage but there is free street parking in the surrounding area.

Was kinda small but if you like rocks and fossils etc it was great. So many beautiful rocks to see and earth formations. Was worth the visit.

My elementary age children thought this museum was amazing! So many cool things to look at. Loved the glowing minerals, cave, skeletons and meteorites the best!
