2 months agoWe had a birthday party booking for a tween/11th birthday at Gnome and Raven. We chose the Tomb Ruins for a party of 11 members(including the chaperone/s). Chose the Beginner level (they do have a Pre-beginner level for age 10 and below, we chose Beginner for our tWeen group), which was challenging enough and just right for our gang of 5th graders. They had to dance around for hints a few times, and finished with just 2 minutes to spare. The escape room was of high quality with lots of space. The host was polite and fun. It was a great experience for the kids. I have already given my feedback to Gnome and Raven regarding the short comings of their online booking page (specifically on the lack of differentiation between birthday party and regular booking which led to confusion/error on our part during our initial booking, which we luckily, coincidentally caught and upgraded before our party date). The only other improvement I can suggest is on the size of their paper plates - extremely small, insufficient to hold a slice of pizza!

2 weeks agoWorst experience with a business. They don't know how customer service works. I booked an escape room, and the website let me add options for birthday cake, drinks, even asked the name of the birthday kid. After booking, I emailed the venue to double check and a rep told me, yes you have extra time, and confirmed vanilla cake. The day we arrived, I was told "I'm sorry, we don't have a cake available for you." No drinks. I wasn't going to turn into a "Karen" in the entrance, and further ruin the group's experience or hold up other groups, so I figured afterward, we'd find something else. (Unless you want expensive fine dining, trying to find a place in this shopping center that can accommodate 7 teens walking in for refreshments turned out to be difficult. I settled for buying a bunch of cookies from a cafe, and getting drinks from a vending machine.) Later, when I emailed the rep to express my dissatisfaction, she apologized for not double checking that I had selected a birthday package. Very short email, no offer to make up for any frustration on my part. I replied with an attachment of the confirmation which clearly stated birthday options, and asked why there was a question about it. Her reply stated "You did not book a BEST BIRTHDAY EVER package. You booked an adventure for seven players. What you did was answer questions for the best birthday ever package." 😤 In other words, I chose a regular escape room time with birthday options for cake, drinks, etc which apparently is a discrepancy and she apologized for not catching the "disconnect." I replied that it seemed she was blaming the customer for THEIR website allowing me to book one event but leading me through questions for a another and offering options, which, again, were confirmed by her. She agreed the system was flawed, and apologized for not having an "extra cake" to offer me. After expressing my frustration that she was blaming the customer for a fault of theirs, and expressing no desire for them to make it right, she gave me a modest partial refund. I am confounded as to how this venue is still able to keep its doors open.

a week agoOur group was 5 11-12 years old and 1 adult in the Wizards Castle at the beginer level. We had an amazing time! Our guide was perfect and the kids had an amazing time!

a month agoProbably one of the most well put together escape rooms I've done. The effects were entertaining and the clues made logical sense. The attendants also played along with the theme of the rooms. We will definitely come back!

4 months agoWe took my son here for his 10th birthday with 10 of his 4th grade buddies and had a GREAT time with the ancient ruins room. Many of the kids (and me too) had never done an escape room and we were all raving about it at the end. The staff did a great job hosting us and setting up for the pizza and cake at the end and giving us helpful (but not too many) tips when we got stuck. We left planning to come back with our family of 5, dreaming about doing double dates with friends or bringing extended family. Just a great experience!
