Grandview Park

We made repeated attempts to enjoy the views from Grandview Park during our visit in August 2024. On our first visit, we encountered dense fog—visibility was barely 5 feet, and we couldn’t see anything beyond the staircase. The second attempt was also cloudy and underwhelming. Finally, on our third daytime visit, the weather was clear—and it was absolutely worth the wait. From the top, we enjoyed a stunning 360-degree panorama: the Pacific Ocean, Golden Gate Park, downtown San Francisco, and even a distant view of the Golden Gate Bridge. The iconic tiled steps leading up added an artistic and colorful touch to the experience. This hidden gem is a must-visit, but make sure to pick a clear day to truly enjoy its magic!

Tough walk to the top but amazing city views flanked by famous stairs on either side.

This is a beautiful spot for panoramic and breathtaking views of the whole city. Right from downtown, to the Presidio where you can see the Golden Gate Bridge to the wonderful ocean that lets you capture three realms of the world. Climbing up the stairs is absolutely worth it. I had gone during evening and stayed up until the sunset which was really mesmerizing. The terrain on the top is little uneven and so just be watchful. Carry some layers because it can get really windy.

One of my most favorite views while I was staying in sf. I would definitely visit again when I come back to sf. I could see both ocean views and the city 360°. The view from the top of the park was amazing!! It was so windy so I couldn’t stay there that much but I wish I could just sit on a bench and chill for a longer time.

This place is amazing! The view here is so nice! I love the scenery! And the walk up the stairs is a great workout for the legs of you're trying to build your leg strength. And there is a bench halfway up the stairs and then a couple more benches at the top. Not sure if it was just me but it almost seemed to Not be Real! Haha.. Amazingly peaceful! I'll be coming here again very soon!
