💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →For parents needing to work, utilize the waiting room's Wi-Fi and seating.
- →If considering private lessons, inquire specifically about coach consistency and the system for managing appointments due to reported reliability issues.
- →For 2-year-olds, evaluate "Stay and Play" options as an alternative to the "Gym Tots" class, which may offer similar unsupervised play for less money and no annual fee.
- →Consider the after-school program, summer camp, or Parent's Night Out for reliable child care and adult breaks.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Reported facility odor and general lack of cleanliness.
- ⚠Tight and restricted parent viewing/standing area inside where kids practice.
- ⚠Significant issues with private lesson reliability: coach no-shows, illness, firing, and system errors leading to missed sessions.
- ⚠Poor communication regarding private lesson cancellations and scheduling.
- ⚠"Gym Tots" program for 2-year-olds is deemed poor value, lacking structured instruction, and coaches are often distracted or on their phones.
- ⚠Monthly fee increase for the "Gym Tots" program exacerbates poor value.
Price & Value
The "Gym Tots" program is poor value for money, described as unstructured free play similar to cheaper "Stay and Play" options, especially after a monthly fee increase and including an annual fee. Private lessons are extremely poor value due to frequent cancellations, no-shows, and system errors leading to non-delivery of services. Other programs like after-school and summer camp are implied to offer good value by long-term positive enrollment, but no specific pricing details are mentioned.

⏰When to Avoid

- • Private lessons, due to significant unreliability in coaching and scheduling reported.

2 months agoWanted to really like this place. But it smells and doesn’t look like they clean and take care of the facility. Also, parents should be allowed to stand inside where the kids are jumping and practicing. It’s super tight in there! Again, we really wanted to love it but couldn’t!

2 months agoGym Skills is excellent. The staff and coaches are friendly and knowledgeable. The waiting room has multiple tables, rows of chairs, and wifi if you need to get some work done. There are also stadium benches and a row of chairs if parents prefer to watch their child practice from windows. They also host showcases, have an after-school program, and parent's nights out, which is a great break to run errands or have a date night. The smoothies are delicious and snack bar offers various items for purchase. Overall, I am pleased with my child's progression, the facility, and the staff.

a year agoIf I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter was signed up for private lessons and her coach did not show up one week, was sick the next and then we were notified she was fired. We switched to a new coach and went for her first lesson and the coach was not there because they had deleted my daughter by accident from the system, the next session the coach was sick and the third she did not show up. We asked for our money back. So much for my daughter learning skills in time for cheer tryouts! Extremely disappointed! Poor communication with us!

10 months agoI cannot speak to the rest of the programs here, but we enrolled my daughter (2) in the gym tots program this summer and my intention with this review is to hopefully keep others from wasting their money like I did. We have had our daughter in several other activities-ballet, music classes, swim classes, gymboree…out of all of those I have never felt like I received SO little for the money I paid. AND they just increased the monthly fee. The gym tots class begins with 10 full minutes of doing nothing but jumping on the trampolines. Then there is about 15 minutes of “stations” where the coach basically puts some random equipment out, doesn’t explain how to use it or offer the kids any real guidance or actual coaching, and we let them goof around and do whatever they want. Then The last 10-15 minutes is “free time”…as if the whole class wasn’t basically free time to begin with. My issue is that this is sold to you as an instructor led class when you could literally come to “stay and play” for less money per session, avoid the annual fee, and get a whole lot more play time doing exactly the same thing since the coach provides no real instruction and is often on her phone or otherwise distracted. We made the decision to pull our daughter from this gym a few weeks ago and since then the classes have only been less and less engaging so I feel confident we made the right choice. It just seems to me the coaches here are not properly trained in working with young kids. Don’t offer a 2 year old class if you don’t know how to instruct 2 year olds.

a year agoMy kids have been going to gym skills for 2.5 years for gymnastics classes, after school care, and summer camp. The kids love it! They say it is a lot more fun than doing camp at our old daycare. The coaches seem to have fun with the kids and keep them engaged with lots of different active stuff.
