a month agoI have been going to Half Moon for 2 years and it has been exciting to see it grow. It is the most welcoming community and I’ve enjoyed interactions with other climbers and the staff. For me the real gem is the yoga program— the studio is comfortable and clean, there is a great variety of teachers, and many class times to choose from. Considering the classes are included in the membership, it’s a great value. The owners are present and involved and you can feel their sincere efforts to grow the community and meet their needs.

a month agoPlenty of wall for everyone at half moon. Even during high volume times you can find a section of wall to yourself or talk to all the wonderful people around you. There is a whole wall in the back for the really young climbers. They have rings, multiple pull-up bars and hang boards on top of their weightlifting area (dumbbells up to 50 lbs, 1 squat rack, 1 adjustable bench, 1 bench press, cardio machines). I really enjoyed being able to use the moonboard to train as well. I like that the wall never gets too high (probably 12 feet max for hand height) and the crash pads are super thick. I wanna send it on cool moves and not have to worry about breaking something. I always felt super safe at half moon. Complimentary yoga classes was a nice perk of being a member. Small group class with good start time options. Bathrooms and gym were regularly cleaned.

6 months agoAwesome gym, changed my membership from a bigger and more crowded gym as Half Moon is much less crowded and friendlier. Lots of routes and the climbing classes are awesome. I took the Next Steps class with CheVon and she was a great instructor that helped me improve my technique in a short period of time. Community events are also very well organized. Highly recommend

4 years ago**UPDATE - 3/20** Been to the Gym now and had a great time! Walls are super fresh and the holds are super sticky which makes for some fun climbing, but sore hands! Plenty of variation in difficulty and some cool areas to play around on (like the archway). The area isn't huge but still plenty to do, which is nice to be able to climb the whole gym. Positive change from stone gardens where they section you off and you can only climb in one area for an hour and a half. I've already paused my VW membership and plan to just get a punch card so I can start going here. **UPDATE - 3/20** So excited to finally have a local gym for all us Greenwood climbers. I haven't been able to give it a go yet, but I'm already excited by the layout and routes set up. Plus, the owners seem really nice and excited to bring us a local gym. Thanks halfmoon and can't wait to climb with you all!
