9 months agoThe gym and the pool are great. Before the pandemic, when my father was alive, I took him here for a class and everyone in class was friendly. I want to commend one of the teens who manages (or is a lifeguard?) the pool. He's about 16-19, with eyeglasses that are missing a temple. While I was signing in, two other teen boys came in wearing street clothes. That guy behind the desk said they could not get in the pool in those clothes. (There's a rule against that at every public and university pool in every state I've been in.) One of the two guys wanting in said "c'mon man.....". The lifeguard said no again. The guy wanting in did not give up. He persisted and made excuses, saying things like "just this time". I have a brother and sister-in-law who do this everywhere they go. They always want exceptions to be made for them, rules to be broken, things to be given for free, and so on. And they're persistent, too. They're probably the reason that this kid was starting to annoy me. He had no regard for the consequences, which could have been damage to the pool drain, or this lifeguard losing his job. It was all about HIM. #narcissism. I spoke up and suggested that the 2 guys wanting in the pool go get on a treadmill in the gym and use a spray bottle with water to spray themselves and pretend to be in a pool. (I was trying to be funny, but they didn't appreciate my humor). I commend the young man for sticking to pool policy and not giving in to the relentless whining, badgering, and peer pressure. There are not many teens who can do that.

a year agoI went yesterday with my family to enjoy the pool. It was my first time ever going and I was so pleasantly surprised. Wonderful pool, nice staff, and the other amenities, I think, are great. I can't wait to go again.
