💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • If visiting for the 'petting zoo,' manage expectations: animals are primarily for viewing and may not be available for petting.
  • Budget $2 per child for entry into the animal viewing area.
  • Plan a visit during the fall for seasonal traditions like viewing great pumpkins and enjoying fresh pumpkin donuts.
  • Consider visiting on a weekday morning or early on a weekend to potentially avoid peak crowds, though lines are reported to move quickly even when busy.
  • Try popular food items like the pumpkin donuts (if in season) and caramel apples, and specific drinks like the apple cider slushy for kids or lavender soda for adults.
  • Bring a camera for the numerous photo opportunities.
  • If you prefer your chai tea hot, check the weather, as it might be too hot for it during summer.

Things to Consider

  • The 'petting zoo' is primarily an animal viewing area; as of one review, it involved 'absolutely no petting of the goats, donkey, and alpaca that were penned up.' Parents expecting direct animal interaction may be disappointed.
  • Can get pretty busy on weekends, indicating potential crowds, though lines for food are reported to move quickly.

Price & Value

Prices are described as 'reasonable' for entry to events and general offerings. The animal viewing area costs $2 per child, which is clearly stated. Food items like sandwiches and seasonal treats are considered delicious and part of a good value experience. No hidden costs mentioned; overall perceived as a good value for a family day out with multiple activities.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accommodations for special needs are mentioned in the reviews.
  • As a farm venue, most activities are outdoors and involve uneven terrain, which might be a consideration for strollers or wheelchairs, though not explicitly stated as an issue.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Offers a wide variety of food and drinks for purchase on-site, including sandwiches (ham and cheese, Reuben, grilled cheese), breakfast options, pumpkin donuts, caramel apples, apple cider, apple cider slushies, lavender soda, mimosas, and chai.
  • No explicit policy regarding outside food or drinks is mentioned, but the venue provides extensive dining options.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not explicitly detailed in reviews, but as a farm and wedding venue, it can be inferred that there is ample parking, as it's not mentioned as an issue even on busy days.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Can be 'pretty busy' on weekends, especially during peak seasons like fall, with popular items like pumpkin donuts selling out quickly.
  • Lines for food are reported to move quickly despite busyness, indicating efficient service.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Not explicitly detailed in the reviews, but the general clean and comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and the nature of a well-maintained farm suggest a safe environment. Animals are penned, minimizing direct unsupervised interaction.

When to Avoid

  • If your primary expectation is direct, hands-on petting zoo interaction with animals.
  • If you dislike busy environments, although crowds are generally well-managed.

We always make it a tradition to head up to Green Bluff in the fall, and this time, we decided to stop at High Country Orchard. I had heard great things about their sandwiches and had to try them out. It was pretty busy when we arrived on the weekend, but the line moved quickly, and we got our order in without much of a wait. We ordered a ham and cheese, a Reuben, and a grilled cheese with tomato soup. The kids got an apple cider slushy, which they loved, and I went for the traditional Apple cider. I would have loved to try their amazing chai, but it was too hot today (I prefer my chai tea hot). They couldn't make the pumpkin donuts fast enough because it was busy. They were delicious After we finished our meal, we had a great time browsing around inside the cute little shop, and then we went outside because there were a couple of local vendors. The kids had fun with the animals in the back and the played on the large slide. It was a really fun day out I love the family vibe here. Plenty of photo ops too pup-friendly too 📍 High Country Orchard 8518 E Greenbluff Rd Colbert, WA 99005

One of the best place to enjoy summer when kids are out of school. Moms can enjoy fresh lavender soda but without kids you can have mimosas. They have good sandwiches and breakfast options. They have 3 playgrounds for different ages and also pet zoo 2$ / kid. Plenty of Outdoor sitting space and tress for shade.

We had a super relaxing and fun Easter event up at High Country Orchard. From a wagon ride, to all sorts of outdoor games, to the egg hunt, to a really delicious lunch -- the day was a big hit! Reasonable prices and super friendly staff, I am glad we spent our afternoon up there! The only con was the petting zoo, which involved absolutely no petting of the goats, donkey, and alpaca that were penned up. All in all, though, it was a very nice experience.
