3 months agoWhen in Portland, you must hunt out this incredible independent cinema. Didn't have time to see a film but peruse the foyer and talk to the staff. It was showing some classic horror for Halloween and was busling with customers. Next time I go back it's a must go to and see a film.

a month agoA really cool venue with tons of history and old cinema gear on display. Sat in the second row in the upper theater and it was still a nice viewing experience.

4 months agoHands down the best theater in all of Portland. From a fantastic facade to an even better selection of films, the only thing you're left wanting for is more space for even more showings! You'll get classics in their original format, the occasional live scoring, special event screenings like the first US theatrical screening of Gundam's War in the Pocket, and of course the big new releases as well. Every time I visit I'm reminded just how spoiled I am to have this place so close. The Hollywood Theater is a genuine treasure of this city and a must visit for any lover of films.

6 months agoPhantom of the Opera: Silent film with live organ accompaniment. Intimate with organ member introduction. The organist—amazing! Film and music artistry. Thank you, Hollywood Theater, for creating such a memorable experience.
