I will recommend this museum to anyone and everyone over and over again. I cannot share too many photos as I was chaperoning students who are not my children to share online-- but they loved it!! We were taking part in the FIRST World Championships and we had the morning to explore. We collectively chose the museum and it did not disappoint. Each level was educational and interactive. It lead students on a journey and they really enjoyed it. There was something for everyone and it left all of us happy we had that slice of time to fit it into the trip. Then we took the Metro to lunch -- some students first time on a train! It was overall a wonderful day and the staff were so informative, kind, and included our kiddos in some fun photo ops!! PS we only had a wait to enter because we had a large group so we entered as a school group which requires paperwork.

This place is absolutely amazing! The gift shop has beautiful items that you’ll want to take home. Our favorite part is definitely the butterfly exhibit, where you can see all the incredible colors. There are so many different exhibits to explore, and they change them up regularly, which keeps things exciting. The membership is totally worth it—I highly recommend it since you get great discounts. They also have a general store for snacks and a fast food option. You could easily spend a whole day here, or even more, just soaking up all the information!

Hands down a must have experience for young curious children that they will never forget! Just as I never forgot my childhood memories of the pendelum, butterfly exhibit, and the imax theatre. Only now, humanity has evolved so much since the mid 90s, me being 35. I relived the same experience over with the all day pass with my 10 and 9 year old son and daughter. Make sure to arrive early, there is cheaper parking 2 blocks away, compared to the 30$ public parking at the museum. Do many new amazing pieces of history and science! Looking to give yourself and young ones a lifelong, memory they'll never forget? I recommend The Houston Museum of Natural Science Downtown. Then me later! - K-Lub Young Ol Skool Ent.

Really nice museum for all ages and times of the year. If you’re a tourist, depending on what you want to do there; it might actually be cheaper to get a membership vs day tickets esp including parking and special exhibits - also then gives you the option to come back and split up the visit since it’s a large museum. Big highlight is the butterfly garden - lots of interactive things for kids to do, and a lot of animals in the exhibits that are more special to view. Lots of school groups on weekdays and more tourists on weekends but you can stay longer or go at your own pace throughout.

I had an amazing experience at the Houston Museum of Natural Science! I especially loved the “Dark Side of the Moon” show at the Burke Baker Planetarium — it was absolutely incredible. The visuals, the sound, the atmosphere — truly next-level. The museum’s merchandise is also unique and high-quality. The whole place has such a cool, immersive vibe. I’ll definitely be visiting more often. Highly recommend!
