Houston Sports and Social Club

I’ve been playing in HSSC sand volleyball leagues since moving back home to Houston over two years ago. I love all the leagues at Wakefield Crowbar! This past Sunday season with league manager Justin was especially great, he is always on top of games, making sure they’re running on time and checking in with teams and players. You can tell he loves the volleyball community at Crowbar and tries his best to make it the best possible experience every Sunday. It’s tough with weeknight leagues sometimes running late and having to be up for work the next day - but the Sunday league has been a great end/start to my week with the combination of community and competition.

Slow pitch softball has been a fantastic experience! The camaraderie, competitive spirit, and enjoyment of the game make it a highlight of the week. I especially want to commend Reed Turke for his exceptional work as an umpire. His fairness, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the game ensure that each match is played with respect and integrity. Reed has a unique way of keeping the game fun while maintaining order, making him a standout in every league he officiates. It’s always a pleasure to have him on the field!

Been playing sand volleyball consistently for 2 years with HSSC. I’ve improved so much and look forward to every game. So many locations, days & leagues to choose from. Justin is almost always my coordinator, he’s the best! Very organized and fun group for Houston adults wanting to stay active & have some fun! Most teams are good sports, and it’s a great environment to learn and get competitive.

I play softball for the city and it’s extremely fun and I look forward to each game! My team and I love the atmosphere which is created by an umpire by the name of Reed! I highly recommend him for all the games if possible. He’s knows his stuff and calls the game how it should be called even though he called me out! It’s all good! We love this league!

Absolutely love Houston Sports and Social Club! Been playing there for over 4 years and enjoy the people, environment, and sports offered. Many of my friends have played in the leagues as well. It’s a great place to meet new people and get competitive if you like that!
