This park is on the bay, where the Providence and Seekonk rivers meet, and located in the Fox Point neighborhood of Providence. It was established in 1680 as the first port in Providence; it was a major transportation hub for material goods and passengers. Tea and spices were traded with the East and West Indies, hence the name India Point. Steamships transported passengers from Baltimore, Miami, and Philadelphia. There's so much history there. There was a wide fishing dock and plenty of people fishing on it when we went; signs all around mentioning to not gut the fish on the dock, once caught, for obvious reasons. A beautiful walking path with views of the water. There were old wooden poles sticking out of the water which I'm assuming were old docks. There were plenty of green space and benches throughout. My toddler enjoyed the fenced in playground; it had a beautiful stone wall with art on it, swings, slides, climbing playscapes, benches, and tables. There was a large soccer field adjacent to the playground. A pedestrian bridge which goes over 1-195 can be accessed there as well as the East Bay bike path. There are many events that takes place there like the annual fourth of July celebrations. Overall, a lovely park with an immense amount of history!

Heaven in Providence especially if you need to be closer to nature and hear yourself think***And then bring the kids. Before the playground or soccer, there was good old fashioned rolling down the hills, dog watching and plenty of space for jogging or laying in the grass. Fox Point Elementary Alumni remember the end of the year Field Day ✨

India Point Park is a small, really nice park on the water in Providence. It was recommended to us by someone in town and we were glad they told us about it. It's looks our at a shipping dock. There are short walking paths, green areas, docks you can walk out on. Picnic areas. On a nice weather evening it is a lovely place to be.

Beautiful park, wonderful space, multi uses. There are quiet spots under trees with benches, relaxing spots where you can put a blanket down and have a little picnic and watch the boats and birds on the water. There are picnic tables and also a really nice playground for younger and older children (not so much for babies/toddlers). Great pathways for jogging and skating and kids biking. Perfect for leisurely strolls. Also, there is parking.

Great place to take your dogs for a walk or walk on your own. It has nice view of the water. Fantastic place to take your family and have a picnic. they don't have a lot of tables so take a blanket or something to lay on ..nice huge lawn. Also i At the very end of the park is a nice playground for the kids.
