a month agoWhen I say the staff is stellar I mean they are stellar. Hoyt got me and my friend waived and situated swiftly, and the other staff behind the desk as well as the manager create a friendly atmosphere at the front of the location. I also requested a picture before I left after my first visit and Hoyt was enthusiastic to take it! Give this man a raise!

8 months agoAs a new climber, I love coming in and climbing here! Though there are a limited number of auto balays, the routes are challenging enough to have kept me entertained and challenged for the past 3 months while coming once a week. The gear rental price is very reasonable for non-members! I officially became a member in August and enjoy the freedom to move between gyms as I live the same distance from both of the current gyms and close to the new one. I also very much love and appreciate the member only hours as it does get a bit chaotic once the doors open. The community here is super inclusive and I truly have a great time every time I walk in the door. I can't wait to grow stronger as a climber and see where I can go!

a week agoI would not rate this establishment one star. I was excited to celebrate my birthday there, but my expectations for gym certification were low. The instructor ignored my disability and condition, refusing to teach me how to belay using an ATC. I prefer a grigri when venturing outdoors. Instead, the instructor argued with me timelessly.

7 months agoLots of space, variety of setting. Has auto belays on upper floor. Top out options are cool. Music was good and chill. People were very friendly. Only downside I could really identify was the stifling heat and feet smell when you come in, but you get used to it. Has rope routes and gym but I did not utilize.

11 months agoI've visited IP on and off for about four years. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they're welcoming when I take friends who want to give climbing a try. Other climbers are helpful and encouraging, though most keep to themselves unless asked for help. Parking can be pretty awful sometimes, and early in the year it can get over packed with people starting their resolutions. It doesn't help that we have limited climbing options in Charlotte. The weightlifting area is pretty decent, and I enjoy the variety in bouldering and top roping. I don't visit too frequently, so I see the routes change often. The wall in the photo can be a bit dangerous to climb if there are any children around. They'll often run through the "tunnel" without checking to see if anyone is climbing either side of it. Overall, still one of my favorite climbing gyms
