a month agoAlthough it’s not the season for roses to bloom, I couldn’t give it a perfect rating, but the fresh air after the rain was absolutely delightful. The wet trees and grass, combined with the sound of birds chirping, made for a wonderful Saturday morning. I stopped by on my way to the Pittock Mansion, taking a moment to get out of the car for a peaceful walk before heading out. The quiet park and garden offered a truly enjoyable visit, and I highly recommend this spot. There’s no admission fee—just find a spot and pay for parking.

2 weeks agoBeautiful place if you like roses and stuff. Very pacific place to enjoy nature and get some fresh air. I didn’t get to see much roses because of the season, but I guess during summer most be beautiful. Plenty of parking too and there’s a gift shop next to the garden.

a month agoIt was beautiful! Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the full glory of the roses as we came in early spring, and they weren't in bloom. But they still have some beautiful flowers. There were also places around the garden to sit.

6 months agoThe International Rose Test Garden in Portland is an absolute must see, especially during the bloom season from May to October. Unfortunately it was raining and there were few roses. Nestled in Washington Park, the garden boasts over 10,000 rose bushes and 600 varieties, offering a stunning array of colors, shapes and fragrances that captivate all who visit. The layout is easy to navigate and beautiful, with sweeping views of the city. Each section highlights different rose varieties, including award winning hybrids and unique species. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a perfect place to stroll, take pictures, or relax among the blooms. The garden is well maintained, with benches, shaded areas, and informational plaques that make it both educational and scenic. Entry is free, and there are access to nearby trails in Washington Park. There is also a store where you can find nice souvenirs gifts. Whether you are a rose enthusiast or just looking for a scenic retreat, Portland’s Rose Garden is a breathtaking gem that everyone can enjoy. Please be careful with the stairs, especially when it’s raining.

a month agoWe visited in late March - before any roses were blooming. It was still a great experience, though! The grounds were well cared for, and the gift shop was interesting. One person in our party was in a wheelchair, and we found the paths to be very user-friendly, with steep grades clearly marked. Can't wait to come back when the roses are in bloom!
