a week agoThe museum director was very knowledgeable and shared some insight into not only Crispus Attucks HS but Black History in Indianapolis as a whole. The exhibits were informative and covered a plethora of topics from racism, to activism, sports and the African diaspora. Highly recommend you visit.

9 months agoMy Soror and I came to Indiana for a conference and HAD to see this museum. The information about the high school and Oscar Robertson were new to me. The knowledge in the museum was intriguing and interesting! The curators were VERY helpful and knowledgeable! I’m SO glad that we decided to come to this museum. Everyone can learn! It’s not just in the classroom. 💙

3 months agoWe went. The doors were locked. The website said it was open, Google said it was open. When we arrived we discovered that it is open only if you call and make an appointment. We are traveling through, and so we will miss out on this museum.

8 months agoLet me say, unfortunately we never got to experience this museum. However, the 1 star comes from the fact that NO WHERE is there information about scheduling in advance for the museum to be open until you get there and read the signs. As an out of town tourist to the city, this is piss poor. The hours of operation state open during the designated hours, which is when we arrived at an empty parking lot and locked building. Calling/texting was pointless as we did not receive a response until 4 days after the fact. Can't "support a black business" if all information isn't provided to the public to support.
