great zoo. Enjoyed that there are a few types of penguins. We went to Africa first but very few of the animals were out. When we went back later we saw far more so I would recommend waiting to see Africa at least if you are going in March. It would be nice if there was something on the app or some signs that let you know if the animals were staying inside or had moved out side or if their door is open or not. Good food, longish wait for what we ordered but OK since it was not busy.

We have always had the best time, hadn't been in a while, since our kids were little. Back then we were FOTZ, and no one got bored of going. Now they're grown so we took advantage of our monthly mailer for free entry, and husband and I had a date day at the zoo! They have the coolest animals. The kangaroos roam semi-free (safely), there is Stingray petting, goat feeding, multiple points of play for kids of all ages, but enough to keep 2 40 something adults completely engaged. There are many opportunities for education, with talks and feedings being scheduled throughout the day. The food prices aren't cheap but not as expensive as some places. Not to worry, you're allowed your small coolers and water bottles, so planning ahead can save you some $. Since we've decided to add the zoo as a monthly date, we have already started planning picnics. A definite must rather visiting or residing in KC. Fun enough for multiple trips.

Okay upfront, we bought the zoo package that has the free tram rides, train rides and skyline ride (I think that's what it's called) since we are residents of Jackson County it made since for the year and we have several children. First time we've done this. You do get an actual plastic card with your name on it like a debit card. It does save you money all iver the park from food to gift shops and you show it at the front of line to tram and train and that's how you get on for free. But you do have to pick this card up in person at the zoo at those front windows. So arrive early enough to do this. Park was very clean, aquarium is beautiful! Kids loved the tram and train! My son was disappointed we couldn't find any spiders, specially tarantulas lol and there is always some kind of construction going on so not all animals are ever going to be on display. Just know that going into it. Food is expensive so I would bring your own if you're a family on a budget. Basically everything is over priced from gift shops to face painting to picture booths. Anything that they can do activity wise inside the park is going to be hella over priced. So if you're like us and you're on a budget be prepared for your kids to beg and plead and be prepared to say no and bring your own food. But will I get to see more smiles on my kids faces because all the times they'll get to see animals, and touch stingrays, and stare at sharks and see huge elephants, yes!!! And I'll probably buy this same pass next year.

World class Kangaroo exhibit!! Aquarium is awesome with amazing glass configurations. Love the sky tram (ski lift) the best way to see the African section . Go on the tram get off see if you see the monkeys go right and back to the start of the tram get on it enjoy the ride ($7.00 for adults) then head left see the sassy hippos.. and enjoy the butterfly garden and back to the elephants (the elephant need more engagement toys).. THE PENGUIN MARCH IS FUN TO WATCH and get close the penguins

More animals than past years. Wish food prices would come down. But you can always bring your own. All the employees were very nice and helpful, greeted with a smile. I brought a group of kindergarteners, and they really enjoyed the aquarium.
