I played in 3 basketball leagues. $400 per team which is over priced compared to other leagues around KC. Each time the league got smaller and smaller due to teams leaving because of poor management and terrible referee's. The referees have their favorites and are very inconsistent. They don't know the rules of basketball. It would be better to play a game where the players called their own game. The guy who runs the league is often late. They take pride in keeping stats which are always completely wrong. The leagues in the north and south have gone from over 12 teams to 8 the last 2 sessions because other teams are switching to other leagues around KC. One more down after we leave. I really recommend choosing a different league because of poor management, high price and horrible refereeing. Just do a little research to find other quality leagues. This league will leave you highly disappointed.

First and foremost, please notice that all the 5 star reviews are from the same period in time. This is when the league director posted on Facebook asking his friends to go out and give him a good review to help bring his overall rating up stating a handful of sore losers were giving him a bad name. There was a reason the ratings were terrible. I have played in the league for 3 seasons now, and only because it's hard to find another league in KC with as many teams participating. The umps are rarely on time, and are never on the same page with one another as far as rules, which is extremely frustrating. Every year there is a delay in getting t-shirts. This year we got them on week 3. Communication has gotten better, but is still pretty last minute. We often didn't know until the night before what time we were scheduled for games. Director didn't communicate with park as far as turning on lights the first two weeks, so games were cut short and rescheduled. And my biggest gripe for this season, is that the league schedule clearly stated we had 7 weeks of kickball, 2 games a night the first 6 weeks, followed by playoffs week. We got 6. No reasoning or warning given. Just scheduled playoffs a week early, and apparently hoped we wouldn't notice? There were also no rainout weeks the entire season, so there was no reason to short us a week. Yes, I realize it's a beer league, and it's just kickball. It is still extremely frustrating when you pay upwards of $60 to participate.

I've been playing in their Flag Football leagues for the last 5 or 6 years, and I've always had a good time. One of my favorite things is the fact that the outdoor league is a double-header league, which means you play two games a day. A lot of the best flag football players in the KC area play in this league, so the competition is always pretty good. The spring and summer leagues are always the biggest, with 20 to 30 teams participating. The leagues are generally broken up into separate divisions by skill level. The first few weeks are used to get an idea of everyone's skill level, then teams are grouped with other teams with a similar skill set, so yo don't have to worry about constantly getting blown out by some of the better teams. This also helps the better teams, so they don't dominate the competition every week, although there have been some teams in the top league that were head and shoulders above the rest. They also keep stats, so you're able to see where you stack up with the rest of the players. Stats are used to compile all-time records and decide the "All-Metro" team each season. Overall, if you're looking for a good 4 on 4 Flag Football league in Johnson County, you should give KCSL a try.

I've played in multiple leagues and always had a great time!!! Had to quit due to my job, but all my old teammates still always try to join because we had so much fun! Owner is a great guy too!

Wish I could give a 0 star… so disappointed in their event planning. I called and confirmed our Bubble Soccer several times. The morning of the event, I get an email that it is cancelled because their equipment from China hasn't arrived! REALLY! 19 people changed their schedules and were VERY excited to play - you knew 24 hours previously your equipment failed… why wait until the morning of the event? TERRIBLE business!
