a week agoMy sons class took a field trip here to watch Peter Pan yesterday. I was a chaperone and was blown away by the cozy and magical feel to this theatre. It feels like everybody's neighborhood theater, with diverse people watching opportunities. 🥰 It is located in a more dangerous area of Albuquerque, and I was relieved to see such a large security presence keeping us safe. I Reccomend going with at least one other person, being aware of surroundings, and locking your car doors in the garage. leaving nothing visible on seats saves money from a smashed window :). Eat when you want, but nighttime is always more of a risk in downtown abq. I give honest reviews, and that includes safety before and after the meal. 🤍👽🤘 Remember: Kimo was packed with security. It's safe enough for daytime school field trips, and the kids loved it! Highlight: While waiting for my ride, I chatted with Barbara in security, who is an absolute angel! Pssst: I request a raise for this woman, pretty please, with a cherry on top? My phone was dead, and she found a battery pack, so I wasn't without a phone or ride. 😇 If you love feeling like you are "home," then come check out this powerful place. 💫 The Glaring Diamond of Albuquerque.

a month agoWe’ve been twice in the past six months, both times to see Black Jacket Symphony. The historic Kimo is just a great venue with no bad seats. We were able to park in the garage directly behind the Kimo as well as easily walk to several bars and restaurants.

a year agoWe went and saw a concert here. The sound was great. And the seats in the balcony were great in terms of view. This is a lovely old building and it's fun to go early and look at the decor and old photos etc. One thing to note is that this is an older building. The leg room between seats was limited. If this is an issue get one in the front of the set of rows. As a larger women at 5'4" it was a little tight for me. Not so much that I didn't enjoy the concert though.
