Kings River Expeditions

Whitewater rafting tour operator that offers 1, 2, and 3 day trips. Booked the 2 day tour for my dad’s birthday online in advance, and it was $350/person. You have the option to rent a tent (includes a sleeping pad) or bringing your own gear/car camping. They have RV toilets (the Driftwood Chateau) and no showers. It was my first time sleeping outdoors in a tent, and I must say that the sound of the river was very soothing. There haven’t been any bear or mountain lion sightings but there are apparently a lot of skunks. No wifi so it’s a good time to unplug. There’s cornhole, a sand volleyball court, and ping pong table. The rafting trips were so much fun. Joseph was our guide both days (shoutout to Boat 15) and he was amazing. He confidently led us through the waters and made sure everyone was safe doing so. Wetsuits are Farmer John-style and mandatory. There are paddle jackets, helmets, and booties available to borrow. It’s Class 3 rapids and young kids were on the rafts (with their parents). Everyone else was super friendly and worked hard to make our trip enjoyable. Saki was the director and was very helpful. The kitchen crew made solid meals and the groundskeeper kept everything clean and running smoothly. It really was a turnkey vacation where the only thing we needed to worry about was paddling and having fun.

Just finished the 2 day trip with a few friends. The river was beautiful, the staff were fun and the food/drinks were awesome. Definitely recommend this for a family/cooperate event.

Did the two-day deluxe in early June '24 after having been a customer twice before - like 25 and 30 years ago. Some things have changed but the overall experience remains safe, fun, and thoroughly enjoyable. And something not always mentioned is what a great value these folks provide for the amount of fun you'll have. For the cost - the KRE staff do A LOT for you - including a great whitewater experience. Universally friendly staff that are truly dedicated to showing you a good time.

We had a fantastic experience in April of this year. The staff was tremendous. A special call out to Wyatt, our guide. He took the time to explain everything carefully and guided us with a combination of gusto and precision. We definitely had the most fun of any of the boats! Wyatt is a sweet man with an incredible backstory if you get to know him. And he really loves helping people. Kudos to the rest of the team as well. We had a freak windstorm at the end of our trip, which was no problem for us, but did pose a problem for the wonderful Pavilion that the team had built. The wind decimated it. Rather than allow that event to frustrate them and for this to infect their communication with their customers, they went to great lengths to make sure that we were perfectly comfortable and situated before they turned solving the problem with the pavilion. Frankly, their response was impressive and reflects both great training and great attitudes on the part of the entire staff. We will definitely go again, and we recommend this organization to anybody.

I have been going on this trip every summer for 6 years so far, and it keeps getting better and better! Well-maintained facilities, delicious food, BEST campfire show, and a truly wonderful, experienced staff who always show us a good time and keep us safe! Special thanks this year to our amazing river guide Cory, who was so knowledgeable, fun, and helped us hit all the best waves!
