2 months agoNice trailhead for walk, jogging, biking, or hiking. The trail head has two porta potties, a tool kit for bikes, and a water fountain. At the start is the main paved smooth flat path for bikes, walkers, and for jogging. It also has a rough hiking trail to one side that is scenic along cliffs. This rough trail is also used by mountain bikes. This trailhead has a parking lot with plenty of slots and a park with benches to relax.

a year agoI’ve visited the skate park here but never went on the trail. My friend told me there was this VERY OLD tree that in the past made the news for someone trying to burn it down?! Well I had to go check it out. On my way to see this beauty the trail was majestic. Almost looked like a trail you could long board on in Washington. Very beautiful. I made it to the tree and it was so big! And the burnt/ charred insides was very visible. I’d definitely say it’s a spot to check out. Strange back story but also this tree is GINORMOUS!!!!

3 years agoWe loved this trail to come back again to Lady Bird Johnson Park. This time we started the trail from the Los Patios end. The other day we started from the other end. Love that this is a mostly shady easy, paved path with a few stretches of full sun. During the day the lippia/frogfruit were attracting a lot of butterflies. With the rain yesterday, areas that were dry the other day are now gushing rivers. We even spotted an egret/heron. I was such in a rush to head back that I almost missed the doe and her fawns. I was saying earlier that a sighting would make this trail awesome! No photo of them though because they quickly ran away. We finished our walk before the gates closed and also right before the sky opened and rained! Highly recommended!

3 years agoThere are two trails leaving from Lady Bird Johnson park, one natural and one paved. It was nice to take one up to the next Trailway entrance and return on the other side of the creek. Well maintained and not overcrowded today, making for a pleasant walk. Unfortunately, as with many of our parks, San Antonio's penchant for littering takes away from nature's beauty. So sad.
